The food in front of you smells delicious, and it takes everything in you not to inhale it in a few bites. One, you'd prefer it if the meal actually lasted longer than three seconds; and two, you don't want to give Sangyeon a bad impression of you. Then again, he's known you for long enough that whatever impression he has of you is probably already set in stone.

Glancing up, you see Sangyeon look back down at his food with a smile. You know he was staring at you right before you looked at him, and you wonder what that smile is about. You'd like to think it means something else, but realistically, he probably noticed how lovingly you were looking at your meal.

"Sangyeon!"

Both of your heads turn to see Sangyeon's older cousin, Minjun, approaching the table. Sangyeon gets up, and the two share a hug before his cousin turns to you and smiles.

"It's lovely to see you again! Are the two of you here to celebrate something?"

Minjun looks back at Sangyeon and wiggles his eyebrows. The tips of Sangyeon's ears turn red and you look at him curiously. Does he have something to celebrate? Why hasn't he told you?

"No," Sangyeon finds his voice. "We're just having dinner."

"Pity," Minjun responds before he turns back to you with a smile. "I hope you can make it to our grandmother's birthday party! You always seem so busy! The family would love to see you."

You're so beyond confused now that you can only blink at him. From the corner of your eye, you see Sangyeon fidgeting like he's getting ready to escape or something. Clearly, you're missing a huge piece of this story, and you plan on finding out what it is the second his cousin leaves.

"Of course," you play along, surprising Sangyeon. "I'll do my absolute best to make it."

A smile grows on his cousin's face. "Fantastic! Then, I'll be seeing you soon! It's about time Sangyeon stopped hiding you from us."

Sangyeon quickly stands up and they exchange goodbyes while you silently watch. The moment his cousin is gone, Sangyeon sits back down and quietly begins eating his food. He avoids eye contact with you, but you know that won't last for long.

"Sangyeon?" He hums in response but doesn't look up. "What the hell was that about?"

"That?" He finally looks up at you  "Oh, that's nothing. He just…"

Sangyeon trails off once he sees the no-nonsense look on your face and he sighs. "My family thinks we're dating."

You're so still, you're not even sure you're breathing right now. You search Sangyeon's face to try and figure out why his family thinks that, but it tells you nothing.

"Why does your family think we're dating?"

He goes quiet for so long that you almost think he's not going to tell you. He stares distantly at the table in front of you until you're ready to reach across it and shake him. Then, he suddenly looks up at you.

"They know I have feelings for you, and they've talked themselves into thinking I've done something about them."

A warm, swirling feeling comes to life in your stomach. When Sangyeon's eyes finally meet yours, you're convinced that he's somehow magically stolen the breath from your lungs. He looks so unsure and yet hopeful at the same time, it tugs at your heart.

"You like me?"

"Yes, I have feelings for you. Moving on…"

He attempts to change the subject, but you absolutely refuse to allow him to do that. Sangyeon just confessed that he likes you and we're going to stay on that topic a little while longer.

"Um, no. We're not moving on from this just yet… The man I like just confessed his feelings for me."
