I balanced my chin in my palm lazily, glancing over at Alec, who was sitting next to me.
Today was our first day back to school after the December Vacation. It felt kind of weird being around other people, after everything that had happened.
It was kind of nice though, knowing i had something that brought me happiness that other people didn't know about. And them not knowing made me feel more comfortable, knowing they couldn't get in the way for once.
"Christopher?" The teacher called.
"Here," I called back, picking at the soles of my shoes.
He called out a couple more names but i didn't really pay attention. For whatever reason, i had memorized everyone's name. I didn't even have to have classes with people to know their names. And it's not like i talked to anyone other than Alec.
I guess it was probably because I liked to be prepared for things. So maybe I was just trying to remember people's names in case i had to talk to them.
"Alec?" I heard the teacher say.
"Here," He called back, catching my eye as i glanced at him again. He smiled, his eyes sparkling in the early morning light.
I smiled back, running my fingers through my hair.
Hey he mouthed.
'sup Sunflower Boy i mouthed back.
He rolled his eyes, shaking his head. He was biting his lip as if trying to hold back a laugh. I smiled, a laugh of my own rising in my chest.
The teacher stepped in front of the class, ranting about some sciencey thing as science teachers tend to do.
I wonder about you Alec mouthed, shaking his head again.
Good, i mouthed back, smiling like a madman.
You're crazy
I know i laughed slightly, covering it up with a cough
"Alec! Chris! Pay attention!" The teacher snapped.
"Sorry, sorry," Alec raised he hands in surrender, sending me a sly smile.
I rolled my eyes, holding back a smile of my own. He was going to be the death of me.

"Hey," Alec said, making me jump slightly.
"Do you try to scare me?" I sighed, glancing up from my locker.
"Always," he smiled that beautiful, heart stopping smile of his, leaning against the locker next to mine.
I sighed again, shaking my head.
"I don't understand why i like you,"
"You expect me to know?" he laughed.
"Yes," i said sarcastically, throwing on my backpack and started to walk towards the door.
"Now you're making me question why i like you," Alec sighed, following me.
"Oh shut up," I glanced around quickly seeing that no one was there then kissed him quickly.
"Right, shutting up now," he whispered, smiling.
I laughed, pulling open the door to his car. I climbed in, brushing off my jeans. I bit my lip as Alec opened the drivers door, hopping into his side of the car. His sandy blonde hair shone in the early afternoon sunlight, his sage green eyes sparkling.
"So, how was your day?" he asked, balancing his chin in his palm, smiling with that daydreamy look in his eyes.
"Good," i shrugged, "yours?"
"Pretty decent,"
He took my hand and kissed it.
"Alec,"
"Yeah?"
I leaned in, my hand on his face and kissed him, letting it last longer than when we normally kissed.
"Nothing, i just wanted to do that," I whispered, pulling away my hand still on his face.
"I see," he laughed, "I'm so irresistible aren't i?"
"Oh come on," I rolled my eyes, slipping my hand away, leaning back.
Alec smiled, pulling the car out of the parking lot.
"So, kind of off topic, but do you happen to be free on Friday night?" Alec asked.
"Maybe, why?"
"Just wondering if you would want to come over, my parents won't be home,"
"Intriguing," i traced my finger down the seams of my jeans.
"Can you ever just give me a straight answer?" Alec sighed.
"Bold of you to assume I have the ability to do anything 'straight' " I joked.
"Fair point," he laughed, "but seriously Columbus, will you please give me a clear answer?"
"Bold of you to assume i can be clear either," i rolled my eyes, smiling.
Alec glanced over at me, raising his eyebrows.
"I would love that Sunflower Boy," I continued.
"Is that a yes?" he questioned.
"That's for you to figure out," I smiled as he pulled into his driveway. I opened the door, stepping out onto his driveway.
"I'll see you Friday??" Alec asked, taking my hand.
I leaned in and kissed him slowly.
"I guess you'll just have to wait and see,"
