I didn't actually end up sleeping but it was still relaxing. I got to lay there, letting my mind wander. The only thing i heard was the sound of our breathing and Alec's steady heartbeat.
"Alec?" I whispered, reaching for his hand even though i kept my eyes closed..
"Yeah Columbus?" He whispered back, taking my hand and squeezing it gently.
"What time is it?" I asked, yawning.
"Uh," he paused, and looked up at the clock i assumed, "7:45,"
I groaned, rubbing my eyes.
"You don't have to go anywhere Chris," he said.
"I'm not," i promised, yawning again. I sat up for a moment then went back to the way i was before with my head on his shoulder and my legs tucked into my chest.
"How are you doing Columbus?" he asked, messing with my hair.
"I'm good," I kissed him slowly, cupping my hand under his chin.
"Good," he whispered as i pulled away.
I rested my head on his shoulder again, blowing my hair out of my face, only for it to fall back into my face. I tried again, reaching the same result.
Alec brushed my hair out of my face, tucking it behind my ear.
"There you go Columbus," he laughed.
"Oh be quiet!" I exclaimed, shoving his side slightly.
"Oh i'm sorry," he joked, sarcasm dripping from his voice.
"What did i say?" I whispered, leaning in.
"Right, quiet, got it," he smiled.
I cupped my hand under his chin, kissing him lightly, my lips barely touching his. His arms wrapped around my waist, pulling me closer.
I laughed slightly, pulling away.
I climbed into his lap, laying my head in his chest. Alec twirled my hair in his fingers as i closed my eyes.
"Hey baby," he whispered, his skin brushing against mine.
I yawned, curling my knees into my chest.
"Shhhh," I pressed my finger to his lips, not opening my eyes.
"Sorry, sorry," he laughed, taking my hand, kissing it slowly.
"Alec," I groaned, slapping his arm lightly.
"Right, right, quiet, sorry," he tucked my hair behind my ear, probably smiling.
"Good," I sat up slightly, opening my eyes and kissing his lightly. I pulled away again, laying back down on his chest.
I closed my eyes again, his warmth slowly spreading down my spine.
We sat there for a couple minutes, maybe more i wasn't counting, in comfortable silence.
I sat up again, swinging my feet over the edge of the couch.
"Where are you going?" Alec asked, his voice over between a whisper and normal volume.
"Just the bathroom," I smiled.
"Okay," he nodded.
"I'll be right back," I whispered, kissing his forehead. I pulled away slowly, walking towards the bathroom.
I shut the door and leaned against the counter, staring into the mirror.
Staring back at me was my regular raven black haired, chocolate brown eyed self.
But it felt like so much had changed.
I ran my fingers through my hair slowly, watching as my hair fell back in front of my eyes.
I smiled slightly, remembering the way Alec had brushed my hair out of my face. His hand had brushed gently against my skin, making my heart beat way faster than it should've.
Deciding i was done with staring into the mirror (and mostly because I missed Alec already), I slipped out of the bathroom and headed back to where we were sitting.
I plopped down next to him, laying my head on his chest and closing my eyes.
"You okay?" Alec asked softly, messing with my hair.
"Just tired," I yawned.
"Maybe you should actually sleep this time around," he laughed.
"Shh,"
We sat in silence for a little bit but it was comfortable. Alec was twirling my hair in his fingers and the sounds of his heart beating and the rise and fall of his breathing was oddly comforting.
"Chris," Ace whispered, breaking the silence, "one more thing,"
"What?" I mumbled.
"Good night baby," he whispered, kissing my forehead.
"Good night Sunflower Boy,"
