7:00AM

My eyes fluttered open from the sunlight piercing through the window. I turned over and saw Ivan sound asleep. Hopefully he was feeling better. Especially since it's Christmas.

I got up and walked to my bathroom to start getting ready. I brushed my teeth, brushed my hair, and washed my face. Now that that was over, I could pick out an outfit.

I walked into my closet and decided on just wearing something simple today, even if it is Christmas Day.

As I walked back into my bedroom, I saw Ivan awake, his eyes squinting from the sun. "Hey! You feeling better?" I asked. All I got out of him was an aggravated groan. "I'll take that as a no." I said sitting down next to him on the bed.

He turned to look at me and smiled. "Merry Christmas." You could tell it was hard for him to speak. "Merry Christmas." I said back. "You should take your temperature." I grabbed the thermometer off of the nightstand and handed it to him. He put it under his tongue and waited.

It took a minute, but it finally beeped. "Ugh." I said looking at the 3 digit number. "It's barely gone down. It's 101.8." He frowned in disappointment. "I'm sure you'll get better soon. Is there anything I can get you?" I asked. He nodded his head and reached out his arms. I rolled my eyes. "Nope. You gotta get up. At least out of bed."

"Fine." He said with a raspy voice. His hand shot to his neck and his eyes shut tight in pain. I guess he forgot he had a sore throat. "You need to take some medicine too. I need you better as soon as possible." I said. He smiled.

"Go get ready." I said getting up and walking to the kitchen. I saw him out the corner of my eye get up and walk to the bathroom. I opened up the medicine cabinet and grabbed a bottle of DayQuil. I poured some in a medicine cup and took it over to the bedroom.

Ivan walked out of the bathroom. Perfect timing. "Here you go." I said holding out the cup. He made a grossed-out face and grabbed the medicine cup out of my hand. He quickly drank the liquid and started fake gagging.

"Oh come on." I laughed. "It can't be that bad." "You try it then." He said. I crossed my arms. "Fine. I will." I grabbed the bottle of DayQuil and poured a small amount into the medicine cup. I put my lips up to the plastic and shot my head back. I made the most disgusted face ever. "Oh my God. That tastes like shit." I said wiping my mouth. "Told ya." Ivan laughed.

I was laying on the couch, watching tv with Ivan's head on my lap. "Are you feeling any better?" I asked playing with his hair. "So much better." He said sounding relieved. "Good." I smiled.

"Hey while we're not doing anything," I started. "I got you something and this would be the perfect time to open it." I grabbed the box from underneath the tree. "Aww. You didn't have to get me anything." He said. I looked at him with a 'are you fucking serious?' face and said," You literally bought me a $2,000 pair of boots. This was the least I could do." I extended out my arms and handed him the box.
