Aelia was sold as a slave to the Mansion. Her best friend Yunho soon followed her, meeting his new master Mingi and falling in love with him. After years as a slave, Yunho had finally found his last master.
Aelia, however, did not have a good experience at the Mansion. Seonghwa, her strong-willed and strict master made sure she knew who was in charge. Being a good slave turned into the most important aspect of Aelia's life. She gave her master everything, and still, it was never enough.
It happened so quickly. Seonghwa decided he wasn't being a very good master. Aelia deserved better. He sent her to a Safe House. According to the Safe House Act anyone who were surrendered to a Safe House would never be enslaved again. They were free, and the Safe House would provide housing, and help get the former slave's life back on track. Aelia was free.
