Diana felt like it took forever before finally everyone had fallen asleep. After telling Madlyn she'll explain everything to her in the morning, and then got into her bed waiting. Finally, around eleven or close to midnight she thought, Diana pushed open her curtains, put on a pair of slippers, and walked downstairs.
George was already sitting there on the ground in front of the fireplace waiting for her, only looking up when he heard her come downstairs.
"Hi," She whispered, sitting down next to him.
"Hi," he said, an awkward silence fell on them, as Diana chewed on her bottom lip nervously.
"Diana-"
"George-" they said at the same time before giggling.
"I think I need to go first." George whispered, Diana chewed on his bottom lip nervously, watching him as he shifted turning so, they were face to face.
"I've been thinking about kissing you for years now, and then last night, when you kissed me back, I felt like nothing could have beaten that moment. I've had a crush on you since, I was 11, and you jinxed Warrington for making fun of me and Fred for being blood traitors. And then after that my crush on you just kept growing every year." George said, Diana was turning scarlet.
"I can never get you out of my head, every summer before you came to stay with us, I counted the days until summer was over to see you again. I loved quidditch practice cause it was a couple more hours a day I could spend with you."
"When other guys would make a comment or look at you for to long, I was ready to kill them. And I thought you were oblivious to all this until last night." George said.
"I'm in love with you, Diana Dursley."
Diana stared at him, she felt like she was having problems breathing, or speaking. Her eyes flickered to the fire, before she took a deep breath.
"George, I didn't have a crush on you first year." George looked at the ground, his ears turning red from embarrassment.
"Well, I thought I didn't." George looked at her confused.
"I've pushed down my feelings for you, for years now, and it wasn't till last year that I realized I did have a crush on you. And Madlyn would tell me, you have a crush on him, he has a crush on you, but I just never...ever believed her, until last year, when I realized I did." Diana explained,
"I walked into the common room, and there you were just laughing, and I knew I did."
"Say the words Diana, please." George said, as he leaned closer to her.
"I love you, George." She said, and then George cupped Diana's blushing face, and kissed her. She gripped his black pajama shirt, pulling him close.
They both pulled away breathless, George grinned his eyes twinklingly gleefully.
"I guess this makes you, my girlfriend."
"Hold on there, I never agreed." Diana joked; George scoffed.
"So, you're just using me? Is it for my hot body?"
"Oh 100% I am." Diana said, before they both started laughing.
"Even though I would love to stay here and kiss you for the rest of the night. We need to go to bed before we miss our first class." George said, Diana nodded, they both stood up, their cheeks hurting from smiling and laughing so much.
"Goodnight, Georgie."
"Goodnight, darling." George said, before he put his finger under her chin, raised her face and kissed her goodnight, before going to the boy's dormitory.
