They said goodbye to Mariam that next morning, in a sad, tearful goodbye. Fred would have gone with her, made sure she arrived okay but he didn't want to leave his brother alone. Diana still wasn't speaking to George; she ignored him as she packed the last of her stuff.
"Fred, can you tell George that I'm ready to go." Diana said, setting the last suitcase near the fireplace. George scowled at her from the kitchen table. Fred looked between them and sunk lower into the couch, the couch he hadn't moved from since Mariam left.
"George. Diana says she's read-"
"I heard! Tell Diana that I'm going to come set the floo up, if that's not to cave man of me."
"He said-"
"Tell George! That he better hurry up because it's getting late, and I wouldn't want it to be late, and the death eaters come get me."
"Um-"
"Tell Diana! That the death eaters might actually come and get you since you're related to the most famous fucking person in the whole wizard world." George shouted; Diana rolled her eyes.
"Tell George-"
"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP! I'm not passing anything up! If you two didn't notice but my girlfriend also left me, and not just to my parents' house but to a whole other country." Fred shouted, Diana shut her mouth and huffed a nodded. George didn't reply but stood up from the kitchen chair, he started preparing the floo as Diana went to check her room to make sure she didn't forget anything.
She opened her closet door, looking around, she had taken all her sweaters, tops, trousers, pajamas, and undergarments. The only clothes left in her room were George's shirt, her hand hovered over George's shirt. She was so mad at him, but she still grabbed ten of his shirts and shoved them into an extra backpack lying in the back of her closet.
By the time she came out of the room, George had already sent all her suitcases out. She handed him her backpack without a second glance.
"Fred-"
"Not this again," Fred muttered, George threw him a dark glare as he threw the backpack into the fireplace, it was sucked away in an instant.
"I'll see you in a couple days Fred," Diana said, walking over to him. She hugged him goodbye, before grabbing a handful of floopowder. She didn't say goodbye to George, before she got into the floo, shouted, "The Burrow," and let the fire take her away.
She felt herself sliding down, peeking into a couple of fireplaces that still weren't closed off surprisingly. Her feet slammed into the burrow's fireplace, she stepped out, brushing the soot off her clothes and faces. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were already waiting for her, taking her suitcases upstairs.
"Mr. Weasley, you don't have to do that. I can take them up." Diana said, Mr. Weasley shrugged it off.
"Nonsense Diana, I can do that." Mr. Weasley said, slinging the backpack over his shoulder, and grabbed two suitcases. Mrs. Weasley hugged Diana as George stepped out of the Floo. Diana ignored him as she took off the jacket she was wearing.
"Mrs. Weasley do you want me to set up for dinner?" Diana asked, Mrs. Weasley nodded, looking between them.
"Yes dear. It's only the three of us today." Diana nodded before walking past George and into the kitchen.
"You two are still fighting?" Mrs. Weasley asked in a quiet voice. George nodded, rubbing his forehead with his thumb and two fingers.
"Yes, she wants to stay with me, but I want to make sure she's safe."
"I'm sure she's just scared of how long you're going to be apart even if it's not safe. I remember when your father and I were apart after my parents wouldn't let us get married for that year it was the worst year of my life. We saw each other every couple week but it wasn't the same. It's hard being away from the person you love." George nodded at his mother's words.
"I understand what you mean Mum, but I want her to be safe more than I want her to be happy at the moment. Even if that sounds bad." George said. Mrs. Weasley patted him on the cheek.
"You want to stay here for the night?"
"No, I don't want to leave Fred alone. It's dangerous out." George signed; he kissed his Mum on the cheek.
"Alright, honey." She grabbed a handful of floo and threw at the fire.
"Diana dear. George is leaving!" Mrs. Weasley shouted, but Diana didn't walk out of the kitchen.
"Tell George, I said goodbye." Diana shouted back. George shook his head, before taking some floo from the little pot near the fireplace.
"Tell her I said goodbye." George said, Mrs. Weasley shook her head at their antics and watched George disappear with the blazing fire.
