Chapter Twelve
Brielle
After dinner with Eddie, I go upstairs to my bathroom and puke. I know it's not the chicken I cooked, I guess it's just nerves.
I decided to get some sleep, maybe I'll get better in the morning.
The next morning came and unfortunately, I was very wrong.
I'm not feeling great at all. My stomach is churning and I start gagging. I feel throw-up burning inside my throat about to come out. I run straight to the bathroom to let it all out of my system.
Once it's all gone and I can't feel any more burning, I go downstairs to the kitchen and drink some water.
I haven't felt ill in ages and I hate the feeling. I guess I don't appreciate being healthy when I am.
I decide to cook my regular breakfast, eggs, and bacon, yet the thought of eating makes my stomach churn again.
"Callan, you want some eggs? I can't eat."
My brother nods at me and takes the plate. "Why? You're usually starving in the morning."
"Maybe it's the smoking. I'm not used to it and Mom usually loses her appetite when she's high," I try to convince myself, but something tells me it hasn't been the mushrooms I've been inhaling.
The queen walks into the kitchen. "What's wrong, Bri? You're as pale as a ghost," she asks me while grabbing a piece of bacon.
"I don't know. Mushrooms maybe?" I shake my head. "I've been throwing up and I can't eat. Just looking at those eggs makes me even more sick."
"You may be pregnant," Mom laughs. "When I was pregnant with you, I couldn't eat things I usually ate on a daily basis."
Pregnant?
It's possible but I don't want it to be. Milo's the only person I've been with and the idea of him being a father makes me feel even more sick.
"No," is all I can bear to get out.
I refuse to believe that it's a possibility.
"I know we aren't on the best terms with Aurora since she's good now, but she helped me get through my pregnancy with Callan. We can talk to her and find out for sure."

The next thing I know, all three of us are in a carriage heading to East Oz to find out if I'm going to be a mother. We finally reach the path of the golden brick road, confirming that we're now in Aurora's territory.
Once we reach the incredible emerald palace, we're greeted by the possible aunt of my child: Lilah, one of the Charming princes, and an ugly beast.
The Fairy Tale World is such a strange place. It's full of curses, weirdos, and the ridiculous royal families. Not to say that our family doesn't contribute to it, because we do, but seeing all of us in Oz confirms that this world is in fact a strange one.
"So what brings you to Oz?" Lilah asks us.
"Your brother may have gotten my daughter pregnant," Mom says as she rolls her eyes. "You?"
"I'm cursed to sleep for a hundred years, Archie's cursed as a beast, and Noah's just here for emotional support," Lilah laughs.
Being cursed to sleep for one hundred years sounds so much better than bearing an asshole's child.
