"Jeon Saewon, get down here now! The Park family is here!" Saewon quickly got on her feet as her mother was shouting from downstairs. She hurriedly fixed her hair, moving the strands out of her face and made sure she looked presentable before nodding at herself in the mirror. Needless to say, she was nervous to meet her childhood bestfriend, Sunghoon who had been away for almost 5 years.
When news broke that Sunghoon would be moving to Japan for his Dad's business, they were both devastated. However that did not stop them from remaining friends. During the first few months of Sunghoon not being in Korea, they would send messages often, even chatting through the night all the time. Slowly, the both of them got busy and their daily chats became weekly, to monthly, and eventually once every few months just to check up on the other. Despite them barely talking, she still appreciated Sunghoon for always checking up on her every now and then. Saewon hoped that their friendship could go back to the way it was before.

"Saewon I missed you so much!" She felt a pair of hands wrap around her as she barely managed to get down the stairs. Instantly she could recognise his scent, it was the same even after years. She stood there stiff as a rock, hands clenched by her side awkwardly hanging before smiling and returning the hug.
"I'm enrolled into the same school as you, I can't wait to hangout with you again," Hearing that made her day, a smile was plastered on her face. All the forgotten feelings slowly came swarming back.
Her eyes trailed up to his, noticing how much better he looked in person. She had seen pictures but actually seeing him was different. His face had matured and he was no longer the same 14 year old boy she knew. His jaw and nose were sharp and even more prominent than ever. He still had the same smile while his build stood out as he wore a black tight turtleneck top paired with a gold necklace, accentuating his lean and masculine body. Saewon was definitely staring but it didn't matter, she couldn't take her eyes off him.
"I can't believe it's been 5 years and we're no longer kids now." Saewon mentioned, reminiscing the times they spent together since they were in diapers. "Yeah and you still haven't seem to grow an inch tall- hey let go!" She jokingly pulled his ear, "5 years and you look like you've aged 10 years." He scoffed. "I'll take that as a compliment."
"Let's go the adults are waiting for us," Sunghoon let out a hand and she gladly took it, following him from behind as he pulled her along. She was grateful that they weren't awkward with each other.
