Ike waved his arms in a panic, slowly sinking down. And down.

He couldn't let himself be dragged to the bottom!

Ike kicked, and unsteadily but surely, he burst back onto the surface of the water. He took breaths, and looked up. Was the Monster gone?

He saw no sight of the scary Monster. But...no Shelley.

Ike choked as water glugged into his mouth, and he kicked yet again in an attempt to not go back down under the surface.

Tears filling in his eyes, all he could do was desperately call out as his head started to bob underwater again.

"HELP!!!" Ike's cry boomed.

                               * * *

Dougie looked around, fazed by the beautiful yet mysterious flowers growing on the large hedges.

Dougie slowly reached out a hand...

..."HELP!!!" a cry came.

Dougie whipped around. Ahead of him was a lake, and there, was something in the center of it...

..."A toddler..." Dougie breathed. The sight of the rapid moving caught hid attention. "...And it's drowing!" he exclaimed.

He quickly rushed forward.

When he came to an inch away from the lake's water, he skidded to a halt.

Hesitant, he thought to himself. Should he really do this? Could he really be able to swim all the way there and the way back? Was this safe?

But the sight of the crying toddler's head going under the water spiked his alarm.

Dougie took a deep breath and rushed into the water.

He swam unsteadily towards the toddler. His glasses immediately blurred.

GODDAMMIT, WHY DIDN'T HE TAKE THEM OFF!?

Dougie soon found himself reaching into the water and grabbing hold of the tiny little body.

He gasped and looked back to land.

But his glasses were too blurry. He could barely see anything.

He took a deep breath, praying to God, and then swam forward.

He could hear the child quietly whimpering as he went forward. He prayed they would actually be able to make it to land. This boy really needed it.

A few more splashes, and Dougie reached out. And he felt it. Grass.

He pulled himself forward, and crawled out.

He put down the little boy and took his glasses off.

He was dripping wet...yet he didn't feel cold at all. In fact...he still felt warm.

Everything felt warm.

And the lake water had felt...normal. Not even chilly.

He blinked, and twisted his shirt, letting the water squeeze out. He then rubbed his glasses with his shirt.

He put his glasses back on and looked at the toddler.

He wasn't crying anymore. He was starting at Dougie.

"Uhhh...hi," said Dougie.

The toddler blinked.

"You feeling okay?" asked Dougie.

The toddler reached out his little hands and twisted his shirt so the water could squeeze out, copying what Dougie did.

"How'd you end up in the lake?" he asked.

The toddler's eyes went round.

A look of fear entered.

Dougie blinked as the toddler looked up.

"...Monster..." he whimpered, pointing up to the cliff above the lake.

"Monster!?" exclaimed Dougie, alarmed.

"Big Monster..." the toddler whimpered.

"But...But...Monsters aren't real," protested Dougie.

"I SAW IT! I SAW IT!" the kid cried.

Dougie blinked, eyes wide, and then patted the kid slowly in an attempt to comfort them.

Uneasiness crawled into him, and his thoughts spiraled.

Monster? An actual Monster? Roaming in this beautiful "garden" thingie?

Dougie looked back down at the toddler, who had started to quiet down now. Looking at his spiky black hair, his weirdly shaped head and weird face, his green shirt with the boat on it, it all came together...

..."Hey, you're Kyle's brother!" he exclaimed. The little boy blinked.

"Kyle!" he said.

"You looking for him?" Dougie asked.

Kyle's little brother nodded.

"What was your name again?" asked Dougie.

"Ike!" said the little boy named Ike proudly.

"I'm Dougie. I'm looking for my friends Pip and Butters," explained Dougie, putting his hand on his chest.

"Hey, have you seen them, by any chance?" he asked.

Ike rubbed his chin, then shook his head.

Dougie sighed. "Guess I should continue looking," he said.

As he started to walk around the lake, he turned back and said,"You can come with me." Ike smiled and followed him.
