Y/n and the others spotted a few familiar faces from the Academia on their way. Soon, they reached the cafe. It wasn't quite large, nor too small. From the looks of it, the ambiance seemed like it was the perfect place to study.
Pulling the door, Dehya ushered everyone inside before herself. As the bell rang, they were soon greeted by the smell of fresh coffee beans, the sound of milk being frothed, and the barista calling someone by the name of "Kaveh" to the counter to claim their drink. The cafe was jam-packed with people, especially students. The name sounded familiar to Y/n, but she brushed it off.
"Do you guys want anything? It's on me." Candace offered. The group scanned the menu. Everything looked delicious; The cafe offered various drinks, dishes, and snacks. She ended up paying for 2 Vanilla lattes for Y/n and Nilou, An iced Caramel Macchiato for Dehya, and a Vanilla Bean Frappucino for herself.
"You guys can head on and find us a seat. I'll stay here to wait for our drinks." Candace said, tilting her head in the direction of the large dining area inside the cafe. "I'll stay and keep Candace company. You guys go first." Dehya added.
Y/n and Nilou made their way over to the dining area, which unsurprisingly turned out to be full. Glancing around, Y/n spotted a staircase. It was in a more secluded area, so most wouldn't see it upon entering.
"There's a second floor as well. Maybe they'd have more seating up there?" She said, pointing in the direction of the staircase. Nilou simply nodded in response. As the two headed on up, they noticed the noise becoming lesser and lesser. Until it was just the sound of a few people. It sounded like a heated discussion. Those kinds of discussions where you'd almost think they were fighting by the tone of their voices.
That was what both Y/n and Nilou thought too until they heard what the discussion topic was.
"Gojo would clearly solo almost every anime character. There's no doubt about that."
"If Kirby got serious, he could probably eat everyone alive!"
"Yeah, but he'd have to get past Gojo's infinity thingy."
"Based on the conclusive evidence, Kirby doesn't seem to have a definitive stomach. I'm siding with Kaveh on this one."
There were four other people on the second floor. One, a silver-haired, red-orange-eyed guy; was the one defending Gojo. Another, a blonde-haired, red-eyed, shorter guy; was defending... Kirby? 'Out of all the characters EVER, Kirby? Really?' Y/n thought.
The other two were oddly silent. It was almost as if they were in their own world. One of them happened to be someone many on campus known as Tighnari. He was well known for his expertise in Plant Growth and Development.
As Y/n glanced at the final person, she was suddenly put in a state of awe. Sitting near the window, was a tall, grey-haired, turquoise-eyed man. He was wearing a white turtleneck sweater, with its sleeves rolled up to his elbows. Noise-canceling headphones covering both of his ears, he seemed to be busy reading a book.
She'd never seen him before on campus, but somehow, he seemed familiar. His aura was a comforting, yet intimidating one. The way his eyes flickered from page to page resembled that of a person in a state of deep focus. To put it simply, Y/n didn't know much about this guy, except for the fact that he was really good-looking. Extremely good-looking.
"I know these guys. They go to the Academia too!" Nilou said, whisper-yelling into Y/n's ear; "We should take a seat, just don't mind them. They're an earful to listen to, especially when they discuss stupid topics like these." She continued, dragging Y/n to a nearby table.
