The Teyvat Academia's library, also known as the 'House of Daena', was one of the largest libraries in Teyvat. In there resided books of all shapes, sizes, languages, and genres; a true dream come true for the typical scholar.
Almost all the seats were taken, with certain reserved rooms and spots for people recognized by the academia and staff. To top it all off, it was pretty noisy.
"Crap... Why's it so noisy in here? Libraries are called quiet spaces for a reason..." Y/n thought. With a sigh, she began to walk toward the library's main desk to return a few books that Yelan tasked her with.
Behind the main desk was a Green-haired girl. She looked to be a year under Y/n. The badge pinned on her chest read: " Shinobu Kuki. Library helper."
"Hey there. Are you returning these?" Her voice was soft, yet stern. Her violet eyes flicked over to Y/n, eyeing the books she had with her.
"Yeah, but they're not under my library card," Y/n replied, placing the books on the desk. Library cards were the Academia's way of monitoring books. One would have to present their card when they borrow and return books, as well as enter or leave the library.
"They're under my roommate's card." Y/n continued.
"Do you have the library card used by your roommate?" Kuki asked, slightly tilting her head to the side.
Y/n began to dig through her bag."Here it is!" She exclaimed, handing the card over.
After handing the books over, Y/n made her way over to the bookshelves. The newest edition of her favorite manga, 'Jujutsu Kaisen', had recently come out, and she was sure that the Academia had it. Scanning through the shelves, she finally found the manga and international comics section.
"Volume 20... Volume 21... Volume-" Y/n counted in her head. That was weird. Volume 22 was missing. Had someone already gotten to it before her? Bummer.
"Looking for this?" Almost on queue, a familiar voice called out. It was Cyno, holding out the singular copy of a book. On the spine, it read: Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 22.
'Oh right, Cyno reads Jujutsu Kaisen too!' She thought.
"I'm already done reading it. Here, take it." He said, extending his arm so that Y/n could take the book from him.
"Thanks!" She replied, taking the book from him.
"No problem. It's not what I came here to do anyway." He added, reaching for his pocket.
Pulling out his phone, he showed Y/n what he had come to the library for.
"Have you seen this?" Cyno asked. It was a keychain. A keychain Y/n knew all too well.
"It's a limited edition 'elysium' keychain. You ever heard of her?"
crap. Are there people from the academia who actually watch her streams?!
"She's a streamer that Kaveh's a fan of. He's been looking for it ever since we met up at the cafe." He added, putting his phone down.
Cyno explained to Y/n how he accompanied Tighnari and Kaveh back to the cafe the next day in hopes of finding it, but with no luck.
"We were wondering if-"
"I- Uh... It's with me." Y/n interrupted.
"I picked it up before I left. I was going to return it, but I didn't know who owned it. I asked Dehya, Candace, and Nilou, but none of them knew who it belonged to. I'm really sorry!" She continued, bowing her head in shame.
"I never expected you to be the type of person to watch elysium, Y/n." Cyno said, crossing his arms.
"..."
"Don't worry. I'm not the type of person to get mad at simple misunderstandings. I'm sure Kaveh will understand too."
"If you're really willing to make it up to him, you should return it to him in person. I'll send you his dorm address."
