Chapter 11:
"Abella, Jackson, wait up!" Josh yelled ahead at us. "No man, you run faster," Jackson laughed behind him. I shot him a look and slowed down, waiting for Josh. He shot me a look also, but slowed down too. I smiled, boys would be boys. "Thanks Abella," Josh said catching his breath. "Yupp no prob," I answered looking nervously around the lunch room. I could hear everyone whispering and I guess I wasn't paying attenion, because the next thing I knew, Jackson had my hand again, leading me to a table filled with boys and girls.
"Hey guys, this is Abella." Jackson called warmly, sending me a smile. I heard chorus's of hey and hi, but just sat down. Jackson quickly sat beside me and left Josh standing there sending him a scold. "Come on man!" Josh groaned sitting by a pretty girl with long blond hair. The girl sitting on my other side turned towards me. "Hi, I'm Catie!" She said sending me a welcoming smile, "Nice to meet you." "Oh hi, Abella. Nice to meet you too." I said glancing at Jackson. He was smileing widely at me and I couldn't help it. "What?" I said worried. "Nothin, nothin. Oh hey let me introduce everyone. From left to right there is: Daniel, Connor, Kayla, Trevor, Jake, Kate, Mikila, and you already know Josh and Catie." He said barely taking a breathe in between names. Catie smiled and asked, "Hey, where's your lunch?" "Oh well, I was warned not to eat the lunch here and was just planning on going home for lunch everyday." I said looing up, because everyone had stopped talking. "Well won't that be a hastle on your parents, coming and getting you every day?" The guy named Jake asked. "Well no, not exactly, we have a driver and a chef. My mom stays home with my sister and my dad works 24-7....." I stopped because everyone was staring wide-eyed at me with their mouths open. "You have a driver and a chef?" Josh asked incredously. "Umm, yes?" I said confused for a minute. "O.M.G!" Catie squealed, "We totally have to come have lunch at your house one of these days!" She replied looking around like this was the best idea ever. "Yea, sure that won't be a problem," I smiled. "So where do you live then, sounds like you have a huge house." The guy, I think, was named Trevor asked. "Oh um, we just built a house here last year, and just moved in a week or so ago. It's on, ummm, I think, 27S and 62N?" I questioned, wondering if any of them would have seen my house. "Oh, yea I remeber that house, I thought some big new family was moving in by the size of that. I mean gates, full pool, everything! How many people live in your family?" Catie asked. "Guys, seriously, stop bombarding her with questions," Jackson saved me. "Oh, right your only saying that because you're going there after school, with her." Josh grumbled. Many more chorus's of lucky, followed his statement. The bell rang signaling the end of lunch.
This was my only class without Josh or Jackson in it, I thought sadly. I went to sit down, this is also the most boring class to; History. I looked up when someone came to sat beside me; Catie. Gosh, I was relieved to see her. I smiled gratefully at her and she returend it. "Good thing you have me in this class right?" She said sarcastically. "Oh my gosh, yes!" I exclamied, but was shushed as the start of the class came. The teacher; Mt. Jonathon, suprisingly didn't make me introduce myself to everyone so I sank into my seat and got my phone out. "Hey Mom, school's going great so far, but I can't wait to come home. Jackson's still planning on coming over." I sent it and looked back up, pretending to pay attention, but instead found Catie looking at me funny. "What?" I whispered to her. "You're such a rebel. I don't think I have ever seen one person texting in this class. Oh and you for sure have to give me your number at the end of school," she whispered back. I was saved from answering from my phone buzzing. "I knew you would like it, sweetie. What did I tell you? Dad is coming home early, so he should be here for dinner. Big surprise, huh? Wasn't expecting it either. Do you have any classes with Jackson and who else have you met?" I read a smile on my face. I looked up in time to see Mr. Jonathon staring at me. "Do you have a joke you would like to share with the class Abella?" He boomed, authority in his voice. I grimanced. "Ummm..." "Sorry Mr. J, I was just telling her about the time when you came to school in-" Catie saved me, but was intrupted by Mr. Jonathon, "Okay, okay never mind, but please reframe from talking in class." He said going back to the lecture he was giving. I sent Catie a totally grateful smile and texted back, "Don't want to get my phone taken away. Call you after school. Love you." I slipped it back into my pocket. The bell rang and I quickly got up along with Catie and we scurried out of the room. "Haha, I really should tell you about that time," Catie said laughing at the memory. "Thank.You.Catie" I said slowly meaning ever word. "No problemo," she said as we walked to our lockers. It turned out I had gotten one next to Jackson and Catie, for which I was grateful. "See you at the end of school, she called as she walked the opposite direction. "Yupp until then," I called back.
