Chapter 12:
I still didn't know my way around the school so I looked around for Jackson. He had promised to meet me at my locker, but I didn't see him anywhere. I started walking around looking for anyone I knew. I noticed a few kinda familar faces, but no one I would want to ask for help. When I looked again, the halls were almost emtpy. I ran to the nearest person before I had a glance. I looked up and saw the face of a cute boy. No acne scars or any trace whats-so-ever, dirty blonde curls, deep blue eyes. "Hey beautiful, whats up?" He questioned. "Oh. Um. Well. Yea. So. Uh huh." I mumbled. Something about this guy left me breatheless. I didn't even know his name. "Sams my name, your my game," He rhymed for me. I cracked a smile. "Abella," I giggled. "So what's up Buttercup?" He asked looking me straight in the eyes. "Well first of all, what's with the rhyming, Rhymer Boy?" I laughed loudly at my joke. He grinned widely. "Well I thought it fit nicely you know, go with the flow." He stopped seeing my incredoulous look," Just kidding!" He held his hand out, "Nice to meet you Abella, Sam." He replied shaking his warm hand into mine. "So why aren't you in class, Mrs. Rebel?" He said jokingly. "Mrs.?, I didn't know I got married?" I said with mock innocence. "Haha, very funny." He said still holding on to my hand. I gently tugged it away, ignoring the emptniess I felt when I dropped it. I couldn't do this on my first day, expesically when I thought I liked Jackson. Wow, boys were already playing with my feelings. "Well it's my first day, and I kinda got lost. Mostly Jackson ditched me, but I guess I should know where to go." I replied fluttering my eyes. No one said anything about flirting. And Emma and Cassi thought I didn't know how to act around guys, well they were in for the shock of their lives. "Oh, I see, well where are you headed too?" He asked helpfully. "Oh, um, Math." I said while looking down at my scedeule. "No way, that's where I'm heading to. Mrs. Tackley is the best!" He exclaimed., "she doesn't even care if you're late, as long as you come, you're good. Follow me, sweetheart," He said leading me in the direction I was heading. Maybe I was starting to get the hang of this school.
"WE'RE HERE!" He yelled to Mrs. Tackley. "Sam, late as always, and who do we have here?" She asked me. Mrs. Tackley was an oldish women, probally in her 60's. She looked sweet with smiling lines on her forehead. "I'm Abella, the new student, sorry I'm late, couldn't find my way. Sam helped me though." I turned and looked at Sam smiling. "Well Sam, thanks for helping Abella here, I would tell you not to be late anymore, but I know you won't listen," She said smiling at Sam. I smiled, I was going to love this teacher I could tell. "Please take your seats kids." She said still in a good mood. I looked around, I had almost forgotten we were in a classroom. I saw Jackson staring at me, a sour look on his face. I raised an eyebrow and came to sit beside him. "What's wrong?" I asked confused. "You seem pretty chummy with Sam," He responded sadly. "He's a great kid!" I replied defensively. "Yea. Yea." He replied in a whatever tone. "Whatever, happened to the nice, fun, happy, Jackson?" I said while I got up and went to sit by Sam. "Long time, no see," He grinned from beside me. Isn't Mrs. Tackley the best?" He shout-whispered. "Yea, she's my new favorite!" I whispered a little more quietly then him. "Thought so, I knew you were that kind of girl." He smiled up at me. "What kind of girl do you think that is?" I said smiling back. "Well that would be the nice, pretty, skinny, amazing, did I mention pretty?" He finished. I stared open-mouthed at him. I heard someone cough and turned to look behind me at Jackson, staring open-mouthed back at me. I turned back around to see Sams spot empty and just make him out slipping out the doors as the bell rang, signaling the end of the day.
