Chapter 16:

My dads eyebrows were dancing around on his forehead as they went up and down and up and down. I'm sure right in that moment I could've died of embarrassment. Jackson had a smug look on his face and I had a feeling it was going to be there awhile.

Now if you think your parents are an embarrassment you would think again once you met mine. This was half of the reason I'd never wanted to go to a public school in the first place. When I was little we has a cute little neighbor boy that was the same age as me and we used to play all the time. Now it wasn't a secret that I liked him as much as a 6 year old could because to say the least we were inseparable.

One day when little Jerry came over he asked if he could kiss me. And well being a six year old insures I didn't have a clue on what that meant so of course I said sure. And of course my parents walked in right when we were going to kiss. They starting "AWH"ing and "That's so precious". So my first kiss yet to happen. To this day this little reminder comes up at least once a week if not more.

"Jackson, stop with the look!" I glared over at him.

"Yea right. As if that's possible."

"Daddy! Tell him to stop?" I all but begged to him.

"Sorry sweetie, no can do."

"Mom?" i looked over at her pleadingly.

"Ohhh, look at the time Connor! We Uhhh, have to take Rose and go pick up the other daughter!"

"What are you talking about?" Connor asked confused.

My mom shut him right up with one look. "Oh right! Come on Rosy!" he yelled.

'Crap, crap. I don't wanna be here alone with Jackson right now!' I yelled in my head starting I panick.

My mom and dad with Rose right in front went out the door.

I gave a sheepish look at 'the devil' as I now will be referring to him.

"Sooo Uhhh.... Pizza for dinner?" I asked when I remembered my mom left without finishing dinner.

"Surrre!"

************************************************************

The pizza had just arrived and I paid with our stash away money in the most clichè spot, the cookie jar.

"Thanks. Have a nice day. " then we were alone again. I had no idea where my so called family had run off to without me, but it wasnt so bad. After they left Jackson dropped his smile and started acting like an actual human being. For the past half hour, yes it takes that long for the pizza to get there since we live a while away, Jackson and I have just been talking. Turns out we have a lot in common.

I could almost forgive my parents for leaving but I'm thinking it will take another shopping trip. The pizza is absolutely delicious, the best pizza I've had yet, except for my homemade kind. I probably look like a pig eating, but then again Jackson is devouring it just as fast as me. The best thing is, he's not judging me by my house or my money or even how I eat.

I'm thinking Jackson isn't as bad as I first thought when the slice of pizza hits me in my face....
