When I say I love storms. I. freakin. love. Them. I don't know, maybe it's the fact that we don't get them that often here, or if I just like the sound or smell of it, who knows. I just like it.
And Tuk seemed to be enjoying it as much as I was. We were running around, bouncing on the springy bridges trying to catch droplets in our mouths.
"LOOK TAO! LOOK!!" she screamed in excitement. She had found a leaf twice the size of her, twirling it around her as she danced. My heart squeezed every time I saw her smile; If I could show you what my brain looked like personified, it would be her.
The leaf was big enough for both of us, so she joined me on my duties (chores more like) as future Olo'eyktan. One thing however. Tuk insisted on carrying the makeshift umbrella, which meant I looked like Edna Mode shuffling around everywhere.
"UGH! And every storm, this roof leaks, no matter how many fronds I add!" Tuk and I eventually arrived at Rotxo's maruis, finding him and his uncle frustrated over the dripping water. Tuk cutely shoved a bowl underneath where the rain was landing, and watched intently as each fell.
"FIXED!" I shouted from the ceiling. Don't even ask how I got up there. "Not the fronds," grunting as I swung my way down. "Wind shifted the post." I smirked proudly as Rotxo and his uncle stared in disbelief.
"Oh," was all they could say, now gawking at the ceiling as if it had betrayed them. Tuk clapped her hands and jumped.
"Oh pretty please, Tao! Teach me how to do those flips!" her eyes sparkled as they somehow got even bigger, staring into my soul.
