Shoot, he's fast. I panted as I struggled to keep up with Neteyam's pace. I mean I'm not surprised, he's probably used to this in the forest.
It really did make me wonder what it would have been like if our situation was reversed. Like, what if our clan was at war and our family needed to flee to the forest.
Neteyam suddenly stopped making me crash into him and then Aonung on top. We scrambled away from each other, however Neteyam yanked Aonung by the queue giving him the scariest eyes I have ever seen (not worse than dad's though).
"You. Are going to tell my father what you did," he growled, making Aonung gulp. My brain was spinning trying to think of ways I could help.
"Alright. Neteyam you take Aonung and get your father. I'll go to mom and dad and tell them to send out search parties immediately," I ordered, the two looking at me almost shocked. "What? I can be a leader when I need to be, now go."
We split up running to different ends of the village. I skidded to a halt when I saw mom and dad talking seriously in their maruis.
"Kātao, we need to tal-"
"We can later, Lo'ak's been lost past the reef," I huffed, leaning against the doorway, catching my breath. Dad's anger flew up again.
"Did you do this?"
"Dad! It doesn't matter who did it at this point! We can find out later, we need to find Lo'ak now!" I ordered, if he wanted an Olo'eyktan he's getting one. He shared a quick look with mum, before they both got up.
"We'll send out the search parties, you stay here in case he comes back," mom told me as dad shouted at anyone and everyone to get on boats, ilu, anything and find the boy who's lost at sea.
