"The crops are turning black!"

"The ilu are disappearing, what do we do?"

"What about the fish?!"

"This is happening all over the island, and not just ours! It's happening in other clans too!"

Every month, a gathering is called to discuss the island's problems. Usually they are quite calm and are quickly over and done with... but this time? Well, let's just say everyone is a bit on edge.

"Please, please, settle down," I heard dad's booming voice as my feet swiftly approached the craftily woven maruis where the meetings are always held. All Na'vi are welcome to attend, which meant that even the Sully's were there.

"What are you going to do?" Rotxo's uncle desperately asked, many nodding their heads, waiting for the answer.

"We will dig new fields, we will find a way-"

"We can stop the darkness!" I slid into the maruis breathless, Neteyam behind me. I held up the heart for everyone to see. "Save our island, and the others," I panted trying to catch my breath looking at the villagers around me. My eyes eventually rested on the Sully's and I turned to Neteyam. "We can save the forests too!" he gave me a small smile, noticing how my voice matched my father's, confident and strong.

Mum gave me a glare as if to say: Don't say it Kātao, don't do it.

Completely ignoring her I continued.

"There's a cavern of boats near the mountains, huge canoes!" excitement and adrenaline were vibrating through my body. "We can take them, find Maui, make him restore the heart," mumbles and questioning voices start to rise. "We didn't have to rely on ilu or tulkun to travel across the ocean, we didn't even have queues or fins. We were voyagers, we can voyage again!" my excitement soon fizzled away when I met dad's killer gaze.
