"I TAKE BACK THE CUTE COMMENT! I TAKE IT BACKKKKK!!!" I screamed, looking around like a headless chicken. "ARA DO SOMETHING!" I begged, kneeling at the edge of the canoe before Neteyam pulled me back so I wouldn't be shot.
"You skxawng! You're gonna get shot!" he hissed.
"Well what am I supposed to do?! The Ocean will help us!"
"Pfft the Ocean doesn't help you, you help yourself," Maui scoffed confidently pulling on ropes which I of course didn't know the names of. "Tighten the halyard. Bind the stays!" he ordered. I opened my mouth to talk but my dumb brain blanked. Whereas Neteyam, the smartass he is, immediately jumped to work, his hands fast and efficient. Maui looked at me in disbelief.
"YOU CAn'T SAIL??!!" Both Neteyam and Maui screamed at me. I would have laughed at Neteyam's voice crack but I felt like it didn't quite match the atmosphere.
"I, uh," I gulped. "I am self-taught," I smiled nervously. Maui tugged the rope connected to the sail, unamused.
The tiny coconut creatures with their stupidly large boat began to beat a stupidly large drum. With their bodies. I glanced panically between Neteyam (who was busy tying a bunch of ropes), Maui (who was steering the canoe), the flipping, dancing coconuts and Ara, or should I say lack of her, cause she wasn't there.
"Ara please, c'mon, I know you can hear me. I'm sorry I called you fish pee earlier on," I begged again.
"Can't you shapeshift or something?" I could hear the panic seep into Neteyam's voice, seeing the coconuts approaching a little too fast for our liking. Maui screwed his face at him.
