Another example of the formula in action is whenI signed up for surfing lessons. For a while, I kept thinking about whether Ishould try it or not. One of those days, an acquaintance, whom I met at acoffee shop, told me that he signed up for surfing classes and that it was veryconvenient, they picked you up and dropped you off, and equipment and lunch wereincluded too.
This sounded lucrative so I immediately signed up for five lessonsin a row. I was exhausted after each class. Because as I can see looking backnow, I did not follow the 25A+50+25B formula. I was seduced by therational benefit of this opportunity, the fact that they'd pick me up, drop meoff, and provide lunch seemed like a good deal. And of course, it was a gooddeal indeed, but firstly, I had to listen to the voice of my soul, what was ittelling me?
Now that I look back, I realize there was actually an interesting sign from the Universe. The day after the first lesson we received an email with an invitation to present our startup project to the President of Portugal, which was scheduled for the next day in Lisbon. I was forced to reschedule the second surfing lesson so that Firuza and I could travel to Lisbon. We also had to come back to Algarve, to Lagos, on the same day, late at night, so that I wouldn't miss the second surfing lesson.
After those five surfing lessons, my entire palms were scratched from the friction with the surfboard, I could barely hold it by the fourth lesson. Now, I can clearly see that the situation turned out this way because I signed up for surfing classes at the wrong time. Timing is very important. You have to trust that you receive what you truly desire at the right time and in the best possible way. Funnily, there isn't a single photo of me surfing although the company arranged for a photographer to take everyone's photos. Everyone, except me, received their photos.
