Braving the Flames

Chapter 8: Meeting Luna and Monica

A few days later Summer, Winger, Dak, Cutter, and Burple were flying over a nearby island while Inferno and Narumi were in Summer's watersack, their smaller size meaning they couldn't keep up with them otherwise. Though it's okay, they enjoyed it. And since they were inside Summer they could not be seen and Narumi couldmbecome Aggro to take water form herself instead of relying on Inferno. Summer did make sure to load her watersack after they changed so they did not drown.

As they flew over the island they heard noises.

"What's that sound?" Winger asked as they looked around.

"There, a human and light fury being chased by dragon hunters!" Cutter said

And so it was, there was a Light Fury that was all white with l sky blue switals and icy blue eyes. On her back was a 12 year old girl with shoulder length black hair that she wore in two braids with white feather hair pins keeping her bangs in place and she had sky blue eyes. She was wearing a sky blue dress with white flower petals stitched onto them and black tights with silver nee-high boots and a small white purse is slung over her shoulder that has a blue snowflake on it, and wearing a necklace with a sapphire and ruby on it and fingerless blue and white gloves.

They were being chased by an entire tribe of dragon hunters trying to kill them, and had just trapped them in a net.

"Help them out!" Winger said as they attacked, luckily they were easy to knock the dragon hunters unconscious. Unfortunately there were so many that they were starting to run out of shots, in the end except for Summer who reloaded a lot in the nearby water they were out of shots and two dragon hunters remained and were about to get them when Summer fired two shots. Unfortunately they dodged. Luckily Summer had lost count of her shots and after the shots missed they turned into Aggro and Inferno who attacked from behind.

"And stay away!" Aggro shouted as they jumped into the ocean to put out their flaming butts not even noticing who had burnt them.

"Aggro!" The other rescue riders shouted, looking at her.

"How did you get here?" Winger asked.

"And if you're here, where is Leyla?" Dak added.

"How did you turn into water like Inferno and Narumi?" Cutter added.

"And where is Narumi?" Burple added, jumping in the conversation. "Narumi and Inferno were the ones to go in Summer's watersack not you."

"I'll explain." A voice said as two dragons flew down.

"Storm, Cloudcatcher!" Inferno, Aggro, and Summer called.

"We were coming to visit when we saw what happened." Cloudcatcher said. "Got her in time to see you turn into dragons from water. So if you tell me how that happened, I'll explain why you're here and Narumi is not. It is my fault after all."

"I'll explain the water," Summer added. "You two go help the ones in the net."

"Alrigh!" Inferno agreed willing to let the others explain,

She and Aggro flew to the net and removed it from the dragon and human.

"Thank you," the girl said. "I'm Monica."

"And I'm Luna," Luna said telepathically.

"Whoa you're telepathic!" Inferno cheered.

"Yeah she is," Monica agreed.

"You can understand us?" Aggro asked. "Most humans can't."

"I was rescued by Luna's mom, Skye, from drowning when I was a kid." Monica said. "She raised me and Luna together ever since. So we are sisters and best friends. I was the first person she spoke to telepathically when she learned."

"Now that sounds familiar," Inferno said as the others approached.

"Leyla, is that really you?" Dak asked.

"And Aggro are you really Narumi?" Winger asked as they looked at each other before turning back to human, seeing the others are much bigger then them.

"Woah! Did not see that coming!" Cutter muttered with a shocked expression on his face.

"Neither did I!" Dak exclaimed with a wide-eyed look on his face. "But it's still pretty cool!"

Leyla and Narumi exchanged glances before turning to face Monica and Luna.

"Would you like to come back to the Roost with us?" Leyla asked them with a friendly smile on her face.

Luna shared a quick look with her rider before nodding and turning back to face the Rescue Riders.

"We'd love to see where you live!" They coreused in unison. "That would be so cool!"

They then spent the rest of the day before heading home with Monica and Luna actually joining them as new members of the Rescue Riders with Monica sleeping in Leyla and Narumi's old bed since Inferno and Aggro preferred sleeping in Summer's watersack.
