Braving the Flames

Chapter 15: Returning Home

Summer, Monica, Luna, Aggro, and Inferno arrived back at the Roost as the sun was going down, as Dak, Winger, Burple, and Cutter noticed that Aggro and Inferno were back to normal size.

"Where'd you guys go?" Dak asked them while hugging his sister tightly. "And please, for the love of Nóttu, don't scare me like that again!"

Inferno made a soft purring sound and curled her tail around her brother as best as she could.

"Don't worry, Dak. I'll tell you next time before I rush off somewhere." Inferno promised with a toothy grin.

"Why did you guys stay away for so long?" Cutter asked them as Inferno pulled away from her brother to look over at the Razorwing.

"We thought you guys had died!" Burple cried in a panic. "But Winger kept telling us that you guys were just fine."

"I was just trying to stay positive, Burps." The Swiftwing muttered defensively.

"Calm down!" Inferno yelled, getting them all to calm down.

"How did you get back to normal?" Dak asked after they calmed.

"Well, you see... we accidentally ended up in an alternate world. At the end we gained the ability to change size at will." Inferno said as she and Aggro demonstrated by shrinking down to their smallest size in the middle of the floor.

"Wow! That's amazing!" Dak gaped in shock while the others just stared at them with wide eyes.

"Hey, think about it, this would be good pranking material to use on Magnus and Axel!" Cutter said with a mischievous gleam in his eyes.

"I do have to admit, that would make a pretty good prank." Winger added in with a cheeky grin.

"Anyway, while there we found that instead of me and Aggro being mates," Inferno continued. "It was me and Summer, with my dragon form being a Fastfin instead of a Fire Fury."

"Wait, what?!" The others all shouted in shock as Cutter started rolling on the floor laughing.

As the others joined in and stared laughing too, they failed to notice that Cutter had accidently sat on both Aggro and Inferno.

"Hey, where are Inferno and Aggro?" Dak asked after everyone stopped laughing.

"Cutter...get up." Summer growled, having seen that while he was rolling on the floor laughing he had rolled over them.

As Cutter stood up the others looked before Cutter was embarrassed when he felt water drip out of his butt where they had ended up when he rolled over them, before reforming into Aggro and Inferno, who glared before continuing.

"Riptide, my counterparts dragon name in that world was sick." Inferno continued. "So we stayed with her and Summer's children while they looked for a cure. Ending up smaller because of the children's smaller water sacks."

"Wait, what? Is that even possible?" Dak spluttered out in shock, trying to wrap his head around the whole idea of his sister and her mate being as small as toothpicks.

"In a logical sense, I have no clue." Summer muttered with a shrug. "But I guess, for them, it works kind of like that."

"Unfortunately that night we were sleeping in a cup due to our new size when a drowsy Riptide turned into an older Leyla, and accidentally drank us instead of the actual cup next to us." Aggro shuddered. "We woke in Riptide's stomach. Which was covered in sludge."

"Wow... that sounds really unfortunate..." Cutter muttered with a horrified look crossing his face. "And extremely disgusting!"

"I agree with Cutter, that doest't sound like it would be very pleasant." Dak shuttered at the images that popped into his head.
