It had been a few weeks since Storm and Emerald came to visit with their children, and Monica and Luna were chatting quietly in the sleep cave.
"I think we should tell them, Lulu," Monica said, patting her dragon's head. "But we should tell the girls separately."
Luna nodded her head in agreement.
"Yeah, I agree with you on that one, Mona," the Light Fury purred and nuzzled her head against her rider's hand.
The two then left the sleep cave and looked around for both Aggro and Inferno.
Aggro and Inferno were watching Bonfire and Firestorm, while Summer was racing Winger with Dak and Burple refereeing, When Monica and Luna came up to them, nervous looks on both of their faces.
"Hey Inferno, Aggro?" Monica called to them, getting their attention. "Can we talk to you in private please?"
They looked at each other before Aggro went to the area Cutter was in.
"If Cutter agrees to babysit Firestorm and Bonfire, than sure." Inferno said, smiling softly and nodding to Aggro. "We could go for a flight and talk."
Aggro then came back and spoke up with a bright smile on her face. "Cutter agreed. She said it would be good practice for when her and Scarlet's eggs hatch in a few days."
With that they moved Bonfire and Firestorm to the nest with Cutter, Scarlet, and their eggs, before flying high in the sky.
Once they were alone, Aggro and Inferno shrunk down, and landed on Luna's head facing Monica.
"What did you need?" They asked.
"We wanted to let the girls, and only the girls know something." Luna responded with a sideways glance in Monica's Direction.
Monica took a deep breath before started to speak.
"We don't want to get the boys attention by gathering in one big group, so we're telling you separately." Monica said before taking a deep breath. "Me and Luna are dating."
A very awkward silence fell on the group and Monica anxiously rung her hands as she awaited what the response would be.
"That's great, Monica! Congratulations!" Inferno said with a wide grin on. Her face while Aggro nodded her head in approval.
"You're not upset?" Monica asked, her eyes going wide in both shock and surprise. "Winger is still trying to get Luna to date him, and we were raised as sisters." She added the last part so quietly that the two fire dragons almost missed it.
"And Summer was our friend before she became our mom." Aggro responded with a halfharted shrug. "So it's not too weird."
"And you should date who you truly love." Inferno added in with a soft smile. "Don't be afraid to let your heart pull you toward you true mate."
"Thank you both, of your seaport means so much," she scratched Luna's chin and looked back up at them with a small blush. "To the both of us," Monica and Luna said before they returned to land.
"Thanks for listing to us," Luna murmured softly with a kind smile and a loving glance in Monica's direction. "But now we really should be heading back." She paused to look at the position of the sun. "Oh my night furies! Have we really been out here that long?"
The others blinked in confusion before Monica looked at where her mate had just been looking toward not only a moment ago.
"Oh my Alpha! We've been here for almost the entire day!" Monica cried in horror. "The others are probably wondering why we're not back yet!"
Luna made a soft purring sound and looked up at her mate with a reassuring look on her face. "It's alright, love. We'll be fine. I'm sure the others will understand."
After a few more moments of silence, Monica finally calmed down and her breathing returned to normal. "Thanks Lulu, I really needed that," Monica muttered softly while giving her mate a loving scratch under her chin.
Luna smiled softly and returned the nuzzle. "No problem at all!" She replied back with a soft croon while giving Monica's hand a light nuzzle.
"Should we start heading back to the Roost now?" Aggro asked as she saw the position of the sun. "It's getting dark and the others are most likely wondering where we are."
Inferno, Monica, and Luna all nodded in agreement and quickly took to the sky, following after the young Fire Fury as they headed back home.
