Chapter 9: Another Way To Learn

Me and Sky were shocked to see "Bruno?! From the Elite Four in Kanto!" Me and Sky said loudly in sync after seeing him. The others looked confused. "Come on, you guys don't know a member of the Kanto Elite Four, he's one of the best trainers out there!" I said excitedly. "That's a shame not all of you guys know who I am, but that's not the point I'm talking to you guys right now" Bruno said in a calm tone. "Why are you here then talking to us?" Sky questioned. Bruno pointed at Chalk "You. Come" he said in a cold tone. Chalk walked up to Bruno. "You... Your bond with your chimchar is amazing. Despite being severely weaker than the team rocket member and losing the battle, you still had determination in your eyes and your chimchar managed to last the longest out of your group. I want you to give you this for what you've done." Bruno said as he gave Chalk a disc. "A disc?" Chalk said confused. "It's a technical machine, a TM for short. It teaches some pokemon a move that they may not be able to learn on their own. This TM contains the move Double Kick, this will go well with your chimchar who becomes a fighting type once it evolves" Bruno explained. "Thank you sir. I will put it to good use" Chalk said. "I must go now. I have more important duties to fulfill now," Bruno said to us, smiling. We waved goodbye as he left.

We all huddled around Chalk in excitement. We all congratulated him on getting the TM. "So are you gonna use the TM Chalk? I wanna see how it works!" Aria said in excitement. "I would use it, but my chimchar already has a fighting type move" Chalk responded. "So what are you gonna do with it then?" Mage questioned. "Hm... Leo you take it" "W-what? Me? Bruno gave it to you. It'd be wrong if I use it" I said. "Yes it is mine, but as owner of the TM I want to give it to you, you're litten haven't learned a fighting type move yet, this is your only chance to beat the gym" Chalk says as he hands me the TM. "I- Chalk, thank you" I said calmly, trying to hold my excitement. "You're my best friend, I got your back man" Chalk said. "Alright, but how does this work.." I said, puzzled. I took out my litten and hit it with light with the TM on its head hoping it did something. Spoiler alert it did nothing. "Maybe the nurse in the pokecenter knows how to use it?" Alex suggested. "For once you have a good idea Alex" I responded. We all rushed to the pokecenter in hopes of figuring out how to use the TM.

"Excuse me miss, do you know how to use this?" I said as I waved the TM in my hand. "Oh you have a TM you need one of these if you want to use that" she said. She takes out a CD player and gives it to us. "Use that and before you say anything, you can keep it, but all 6 of you have to share it" she said. "Thank you miss have a good day!" I said as I waved goodbye. I opened the cd player and put the TM in. It showed a video of a pokemon using it. I sent out my litten in hopes he'll be able to learn. After 10-20 minutes of training, Litten was making slow progress. I didn't want to wait longer, so I'd let him train for another 5 minutes, then attempt to beat the gym. 5 minutes have passed, and I've made more progress, but I can't wait anymore. It's now or never, let's just hope he can beat this gym. "So was he able to learn?" Sky asked. "He made progress, but not fully. I have to hope what progress he makes is enough for the gym" I responded. "Let's hope that TM paid off" Aria said, trying to be optimistic. "Hopefully, but we've wasted enough time, let's beat the first gym" I said sternly.
