Chapter 13: Sometimes a Boost is All We Need

Even with all the torches lighting up the area, the cave still looked very creepy. There were so many zubats and geodudes in Mt.Moon, it was so annoying to deal with them, at least I had trouble with geodude since they resisted my fire attacks, luckily my fighting attack works fine. The others except for chalk have it much easier since geodude was quad weak to both their water and grass attacks. Though Skyla and Alex had some trouble with zubats since they had flying attacks for their grass pokemon. They just started to avoid the zubats since they caused way too much trouble for them. The cave seemed endless, it felt like such a workout. We kept going up and down ladders trying to find a way out. It had been at least 45 minutes already and we've made no progress. For the second day, this was not a good start. My litten is almost worn out and I'm starting to run out of items. I need to catch something here before I become defenseless. But all this cave could offer was geodudes and zubats, I had to find something else, something better. It had been another 15 minutes and I couldn't find anything. Mage on the other hand managed to find a second companion. He found a wild houndour in the caves lost, so he decided to take it for himself. Aria also decided to get a companion too, but she was impatient to get a somewhat ok pokemon, so she settled on a geodude. I was the only one who hadn't gotten another pokemon yet.

Another 10 minutes later we found a new part of the cave. Chalk went around the corner and immediately came back, stopping us from passing. "Why'd you come ba-" "Shhh, there's team rocket grunts here" Chalk whispered as he cutted off Alex. "So what do we do?" Aria asked. "We need to fight back" I whispered. "You remember what happened last time we tried to fight, we lost to those generals" Sky said, a bit scared. "Yeah, but now we got the first gym badge, we're stronger!" I said trying to encourage the others. "We still don't stand a chance, we're running low on items with no end in sight, are you sure this is a good idea?" Mage asked, concerned. "Look either way, we need to get through them, we've explored every path so far" I said trying to convince them. "He does have a point" Chalk said in agreement. "Yeah, we have no other choice, then it's a plan, we defeat these rocket grunts and stop whatever they are doing" Aria said. We all nodded and went to face the rocket grunts. We walked with confidence confronting them. "Hey what are you kids doi-" I sent out my pokemon without letting the grunt finish his sentence. The rest went to face the other grunts. We completely destroyed them at first, but my litten started getting weak. I was facing the general for this squad and I had run out of items and litten was half hp. "It's time we finish you and your dumb cat off" the rocket general said in a cold tone. "Geodude use bulldoze!" the general shouted. Before the geodude could use his move, something hit it hard against a wall, fainting it. "W-what?! What was that!" The rocket general shouted in anger. It then moved in front of my litten protecting it.

I managed to get a closer look and the thing that protected litten was a makuhita. I don't know where it came from, but I'm glad it came to my aid. The makuhita came over to me and touched one of my pokeballs in my bag, wanting to be my pokemon. I gladly accepted and touched the makuhita with a pokeball, claiming it. I sent him out straight after while my litten is still tired on field. Makuhita managed to sweep all of the rocket generals rock and dark types. He was left with a golbat, I was getting pretty confident until the golbat landed an aerial ace.. fainting my makuhita. I was devastated, makuhita helped so much just to go down that fast. I looked around to see the group watching me, chalk and aria cheering me on, aria worried, and mage and alex seem to be thinking about something. "Well litten it's up to you to defeat this golba-" before I could finish the sentence, a fireball hit the golbat. I looked over to my litten to see his eyes engulfed in flames. The golbat tried to attack it, but the litten didn't give it a chance, it kept using ember. It seems makuhita being defeated awoke something in litten causing it to go in this rage mode. I started having hope that we could beat the general. I didn't even need to command the litten, it just kept using ember until finally, the golbat fainted. I started celebrating over the victory as the general ran away. But even after the battle litten just stood there normally it'd be celebrating , but it just stood there looking to where the golbat fainted. A few moments later litten glowed bright blue, lighting up the entire cave. The entire group was shocked to see what they were witnessing. Litten started transforming. It was evolving. My very own litten evolving. The blue light stopped after Litten had evolved. It was a torracat now. It was much bigger than litten and looks like it has a fire necklace. I picked him up in excitement, so happy to see it evolved.
