I and Jaymes stared at each other for a moment. Neither of us saying anything. There were times I had tried to speak but I would find myself snapping my mouth off. My muscles were locked in place. I felt my knees numb. I was frozen. Jeez! Her room was a mess, I told myself when my eyes finally darted to the room. Tabloids, magazines and other papers were scattered on the floor. Shoes of her own no doubt- Nikes, converse and addidas- shirts and jeans were all over. The silence continue and I found myself waiting for Cedrick to break it all, but as stunned as I am he remained silent.
"What?" she whispered. I almost jump to my feet. Those words seemed to be spoken out loud rather than whispered. Words died out from my mouth as soon as I am about to say it.
"Just leave" She continued.
"What happened to you?" I asked unconsciously. Instead of answering, she turned to her back and poured her glass a scotch.
"Just leave now"
"Why? Are you gonna call the cops if I don't?" I asked.
She took a gulp of the scotch as if it's like no other than water. She sniffed before answering me in her most intimidating way.
"No-hiccup-I'll leave."
She started walking towards me or should I say towards the door. When she fell, the glass she was holding fall with her, fortunately its as hard as her head. I rushed to her side and tried to help her up.
"Shit! Are you okay?" I asked. She pushed my hands away instead of taking it. Ouch!
"Don't.Touch.Me" Those words were a slap in my face. That's what you get for being stubborn- my subconscious told me hurting my ego more. I staggered backwards watching as she struggle to stand on her feet. She was able to get up after miserably failing twice.
"Leave now." Cedrick's tone was serious.
I thought he was already out. He hadn't spoken a word since I entered Jaymes room. I shook my head in answer totally unaware that he can't see me.
For the second time, Jaymes made her way to the door but before falling again for the fourth time, she started crying.
"I thought...I thought...I thought it was him." She stammered. That was when I realized what she expected. Obviously, she was hoping that the intruder a while ago was Cedrick and instead of seeing him, she saw me. The scene before me is totally crashing.
"I had enough of this." I muttered. "Stay, I'll leave you on your own for now."
Jaymes' head snap and stared at me questioningly.
"For now?" Cedrick repeated.
"Yeah for now" I answered both of them. Without waiting for another word from Jaymes, I walked out her door.
I went down to the main lounge and found a grand piano where two frames of pictures stands. The first picture was of Cedrick and Jaymes taken in the very first sequel of the saga and the second was the coolest picture I've ever seen of them. It's the picture that says it all.
"You're insane." Cedrick told me simply before hanging up.
I retreated to my car and stared absently to the house.
"Where the hell did I put myself into?" My voice cracked as I muttered those complains to myself rubbing my forehead in exasperation. I was scrunching my head when I felt the e-phones; snatched it off and put it away at the compartment.
Day 5
The phone was stupidly vibrating in my pocket that caused me to be awakened. I groggily grasp my pockets for the phone.
