Day 1

I stared absent mindedly out the window and watch the colorful lights of Los Angeles. The room was warm yet I still feel cold. The anxiety was creeping me out, I paced quietly inside the hotel room where I was staying while holding a glass of wine. The alarm by the stand showed that it's almost 5 in the morning. I hadn't gotten the chance to sleep at all. I found myself more alert because of the voices bugging me-all trust is gone...no, please please....I shook my head wishing I could take those voices out from my thoughts. Shower was what I needed badly. Once done, to procastinate more time I turned the television on. There was a 10 minute recap of the high lights of the Award's night in the LA Center. I got to see here Cedrick and Jaymes more vividly since the camera hardly leave them. I'm no body language expert so I really don't know what's going on between them at that precise moment. But something caught my eye, it's the way how calculated they move around each other. A knock on the door startled me.

"Good morning Miss, brought you your coffee." Savanna strolled inside with the cup.

"Your breakfast would be coming soon."

"Okay. Just leave the coffee by the table," I told her.

"Were you drinking last night?"She asked as she walked past the side table where the bottle of wine and the glass still remain.

"A bit. Can't sleep."I responded.

"Oh! by the way," she paused as she draw her phone from her purse. "We are supposed to be at the airport by 7 today and-"

"I'm staying. You and the guards go."I interjected.

"And you are staying. Uh?! WHAT?"She blurted out, shocked.

"You heard me, didn't you?" I told her as I turn to my back to go to my room. I've spent the rest of the night planning and so far this is all I have.

"No way! We have to be back in London before the Olympics. Your father would throw me if I return without you. Besides, you can't stay here without your guards."

"I am perfectly capable of protecting and taking care of myself. Don't worry about Conrad, I'd call him. Whether he likes it or not, I'm staying and you" I pointed at her, "and the guards are leaving today."

"This has something to do last night. What happened?" she asked raising both hands in surrender.

"I really don't want to talk about it." I muttered. Before she can argue, someone knocked on the door.

"It's your breakfast. I'll go get it."

"Fine."

I retreated to my room and changed from my robe to ragged jeans and a plane gray V-necked shirt. When I return, Savanna was on her phone. I took my seat across her and reached for my coffee. Savanna ended the call. I looked at her perplexed expression, phone still raised in her hand.

"What?" I retorted. No response.

"What?!" I asked irritated.

"Just talked to one of our agents," she paused and stared at me for a very long time.

"Then what?" I asked without any hint of interest.

"They just told me that, that El Lay magazine would be publishing an issue of their magazine featuring Jaymes Stern cheating on her beau Cedrick Thompson."

I almost choke hearing her say that.

"Whom with? That's unbelievable."

"Yeah. That's true but the magazine insists they've got proof-pictures. I bet those were just photo shopped." she said as she put her phone on the table.
