Jaymes led the way inside the house, Ronald a few steps behind her. Bear suddenly came out of no where and sat beside me. I looked down at him and patted his head.
"Do you think I did the right thing eh?" I asked absentmindedly staring at the two of them as they took a seat across each other. Ronald sat on the chair with his back at me while Jaymes opted the seat where I can have a clear view of her.
"Should I tell Cedrick that he came by?" I asked again this time I went down and sat on the ground with bear. We were both there watching Ronald and Jaymes talk like we were guarding her or something.
I tried reading Jaymes' lips but she talks so fast that made it impossible for me to follow. Its like watching a movie from a flat screen tv with a broken speaker. Bear and I sat there for quite a long time. Once in a while, Bear would turn its head towards the entrance as if sensing an unknown presence.
"Chill boy." I calmly cooed him.
When I went back watching Jaymes and Ronald having a muted conversation, Jaymes suddenly shook her head probably answering a question from Ronald.
"No, he hasn't" I read from her lips then a tear escaped from her eyes which she tried wiping off.
Jaymes was silent for a few minutes listening to whatever it was Ronald was saying then they both stood up, then I saw it from his eyes-that glimpse of emotion which may not be most likely love but is evident that he cares so much about her more than what he should be.
Ronald opened his arms for a hug which Jaymes gave. They were probably saying their goodbyes by now. Then Ronald did something which made me rethink my impression on him,he kissed the top of Jaymes head before squeezing in one more hug.
They walked towards the door Jaymes leading the way.
"Yeah, I'll remember that."I heard Jaymes said to Ronald.
Bear was on his heels and ran towards Jaymes, she smiled towards bear and patted its head.
"You don't have to walk me out, I'm perfectly capable of doing it on my own."He offered.
"Bear hasn't eaten anything yet since this morning." I lied well sort of. She hasn't actually fed him because I was the one doing it.
"Oh my god!"she exclaimed.
Bear barked twice as if answering Jaymes-its okay.
"Ok, I'm going inside now. Can you show him out?"Jaymes looked at me expecting for me to say yes.
"Fine."
Ronald and I watched Jaymes and bear went back inside.
"So, are you a family?"Ronald asked.
