Lake House

Gin's POV

So I found out that Caroline had been kidnapped by wolves last night. It didn't feel safe at home. So I've decided to take Amira to the lake house. I had promised to take her. So I packed a weekend bag for us both and we left before anyone woke up. Leaving a note on the fridge.

"Wow, it's amazing!" she shouts as she looks at the lake. "Can we go swimming?" she asks. I chuckle.

"Maybe later when it's warmer, it's a little to cold right now" I tell her as I park the car. "Lets go pick a room and settle in" I state. She nods her head. We decide to take my old room. I notice we had no groceries. "Pizza tonight?" I ask her.

"Yes" she says happily. "Can we go swimming or hiking?" she asks.

"Lets go for a hike, then we can swim afterwards" I tell her and she cheers. She goes to change. My phone rings. "Hello twin" I say.

"Hi Gin, are you at the Lake House?" she asks.

"Yep, just arrived. Amira and I are going hiking" I state.

"Oh, opps" she says.

"What's wrong?" I ask her.

"Elena asked if she and Stefan could use the lake house this weekend to get away from John. I said yes, that was before I saw your note and they are already on their way" she states.

"Well we were here first, so they'll just have to keep it PG. Besides there is plenty of room for Elena. Stefan can go home" I tell her. Not wanting Stefan near Amira.

"They'll be there in a couple of hours" she states.

"Thanks for the heads up, have fun with John" I tell her and hang up. Amira appears. "Ready?" I ask and she nods her head. We set off.

(Time skip)

Amira and I arrive back at the house. She goes to swim while I head to the house. I enter to see Elena and Stefan making out on the counter. "Seriously you two?" I demand.

"Aunt Gin!" Elena exclaims shocked as Stefan pulled away from her. "What are you doing here?" she asks.

"I was here first and I can't believe you invited of them in Elena!" I snap. "I don't care if he is your boyfriend, this is supposed to be a safe house from all vampires" I state.

"Aunt Gin, he'd never hurt Amira, me or anyone" she states.

"Really? Have you not read your family journals?" I ask her. She remains silent. "You can stay as long as you like Elena, but I want him gone" I state and left the house. I head for the lake and see Amira playing in the shallows. I smile as I sit on a deck chair watching her.

Third Persons POV

"I'm so sorry Stefan, I had no idea she was here" Elena states.

"No, I'm sorry. This was my idea" he states.

"No it was mine and I choose here. I should of asked her along with Aunt Jenna. But she and Amira were gone when I got home. They must of already been on their way here" she states.

"Did you want to go somewhere else?" he asks her.

"No, this place is more then big enough for all of us. Aunt Gin needs to learn to like you. I mean she's not going to try and kill you like John. But she needs to understand you are a part of my life now and aren't going anywhere" Elena tells him. "I'll go talk to her, you go unpack" she states. Before going outside and Stefan goes to unpack.

Gin's POV

"Aunt Gin" Elena says as she sits beside me on the other chair.

"He gone?" I ask.

"No and he is not leaving Aunt Gin" she states. I give her a look. "I know you don't like vampires and never will. But you have to get used to the fact that Stefan is a part of my life now. He isn't going anywhere" she tells me.

"Elena, he has killed people" I remind her.

"He's not like that anymore, he lives off of animals" she states.

"He's brother killed someone very important to Amira" I state.

"Stefan can't control Damon, but they want to protect me and those I care about. Please give Stefan a chance" she pleads. I sigh as I look out at the lake.

"Fine, but keep it PG and he is not left alone with Amira ever. Also no more inviting vampires into the Lake House" I tell her.

"Deal" she says with a smile. She looks out at the lake. As Amira jumps into it off of the jetty. "Remember when Jeremy broke his arm?" she asks me.

"Aside from that, it was an amazing summer" I tell her with a smile. "I remember your dad teaching you to fish off of this jetty" I add.

"So many memories" she says as Stefan joins us.

"May I join you?" he asks us.

"You can join Elena, I am going to go play with my daughter" I tell him. I leave them.

Third Persons POV

"So, I can stay?" he asks Elena as he wrapped a blanket around her.

"Yes, but we have to keep it PG and I can't invite any other vampires into the house" Elena tells him. He nods his head in understanding. "Do you ever think about us, what our future will be like, our memories?" she asks him.

Gin's POV

"Having fun?" I ask Amira as I sit down at the end of the jetty.

"Yes, but I'm getting cold now" she states.

"Well then, how about a warm bath and some hot chocolate?" I suggest. She agrees. We go back up to the house.

(Time skip)

Elena found the other Gilbert journals. We are reading them while Stefan gets firewood. Amira is asleep resting her head on my lap. I start to get a bad feeling. "Somethings wrong" I tell Elena as I put one of the journals down.

"Stefan should be back by now, I'll go check on him" she states.

"Be careful" I tell her. I pick up Amira and head to the attic.

"Mummy" she says and I shush her climbing into the attic. I place her down.

"Stay here and stay quiet" I tell her as I grab an old gun loading it. She nods her head and I hear a commotion downstairs. I give Amira a look and head downstairs to see Elena running from someone. I scowl and shot them.

The man falls to the ground groaning in pain. "What have I told you wolves about messing with my family?" I demand. "Maybe this will get through to Jules" I state and shout him again. Killing him as Stefan appears hugging Elena. I spot Tyler.

"I didn't know what they were gonna do to you. I didn't. I just...I don't want to be like this anymore. Or for Amira to also" he states. Elena hugs him. "I'm sorry, Elena and Amira" he says.

"I told you to stay away from that child stealing bitch Tyler. You've lost any trust I had in you" I tell him. "I trust you'll deal with the body" I say to Stefan and he nods his head. I go collect Amira and get her ready for bed.

"I'm scared mummy" she states.

"Don't worry, I won't let anything ever happen to you" I assure her. I'd die for my daughter. But it's obviously not safe here and there are to many vampires invited into the house in town. Maybe I should buy us a place? A safe place, where no vampire will ever be invited in. That's settled, I'll go home tomorrow with Amira and begin looking for a house for us. Or an apartment, whatever is available.
