Search for a House

Gin's POV

Amira and I woke early. I wrote a note for Elena who is still sleeping. Before going outside and load the car. As Amira gets in I spot Stefan. "Wait here" I tell her and head over to him.

"You fight good" he tells me.

"I'll do anything to protect my family Stefan, remember that" I tell him. He nods his head. "You had better bring her back in one piece" I add.

"I will" he assures me. "You may want to avoid town, Damon maybe making a move on Elijah today" he states.

"Of course he is" I grumble. "Thanks, but I can take care of my daughter. Even from an original if needed" I tell him. "You just protect my niece" I instruct. He nods his head and I left. I get in the car and start to drive.

Amira and I arrive home to find only John. Oh joy. "Where is everyone?" I ask him.

"Elena is with Stefan, Jeremy went out to the Grill I believe. And Jenna is showing Elijah the old property lines" he states. I nod my head. Amira goes to take a nap as neither of us got much sleep after the attack last night. I grab Jenna's laptop and start to look up houses & apartments  available to buy.

"You moving out?" he asks.

"Not right away, but soon. This has to many vampires invited inside, we need a house where no vampire will be invited in" I state.

"Smart" he says. I roll my eyes and continue my search. John left. I soon find a small two bedroom house on the outskirts of town that is in my price range. Thank you mum, dad and Miranda. They all left me money in their wells, that I never used. I also sold mine and Amira's old house before we moved back here. Which I am starting to regret, but at least with this new house. Amira and I will be safe. Along with anyone who wishes to join us. It'll be a tight squeeze, but it won't be forever. Just until the danger is over.

Amira wakes and comes downstairs skipping. "What do you think?" I ask her. Showing her the house.

"I'd get my own room" she says.

"Yes" I say. "There's an open house today, want to go?" I ask her. She nods her head. Then her tummy growls. "Grill or home food?" I ask her.

"Grill!" she cheers. I go change and wash my face. Then put on shoes. We leave and I drive us to the grill. We order breakfast and sit at a table eating. Soon Andie joins us.

"She's so adorable, but no surprise there with you for a mum" Andie gushes of Amira.

"Thank you Andie, how are you?" I ask her.

"I am well, got a new boyfriend" she states.

"Oh, who?" I ask.

"Damon Salvatore" she says and I frown. "Jenna introduced us and we hit it off. I think he maybe the one" she says sighing dreamily. I notice the scarf on her neck and scowl. I'll have to have words with Jenna and threaten Damon. "You ok?" she asks.

"I'm fine, but Damon doesn't seem your usual type" I state.

"I know, but he's hot and really seems to care about me" she states. Compelled, no doubt. I'll have to slip her vervain somehow. "Here he is now" she says smiling waving someone over.

"Hello gorgeous" Damon says and kisses her. Before joining us. "Hi Gin, heard you were back. Where's the little pup?" he asks.

"Amira is playing with some kids" Andie states nodding at her.

"What are you doing here Damon?" I ask.

"Visiting my girl and waiting for Ric" he states. "You know I was thinking of hosting a dinner party tonight, you and Amira are welcome to join us" he tells me.

"No thanks, we have other plans" I tell him. "Amira!" I call and she rushes over. I pick her up. "See you around Andie and Damon I trust you'll be on your best behavour" I say.

"Of course" he says with a smirk. I leave with Amira. I drive us to the house. Only the retail agent was present.

"Well as you see there is a lot of lawn that needs maintaining and two flower beds. Tiled and wooden floors, neutral coloured walls. No dining room, but you can eat at the kitchen counter or in the big living room opposite it" she states.

"Which will be my room?" Amira asks.

"I think the room on right end of the hall" the agent says confused. Amira runs off. "So you like it?" she asks me.

"I think it'll do perfectly" I tell her with a smile. "When can I sign?" I ask.

"Once your check is approved by the current owners and bank" she states. I nod my head as Amira returns. Smiling brightly.

"I can see the forest form my room" she cheers. "Can we go hiking?" she asks.

"Maybe another day" I tell her. I write a check and hand it to the retail agent. "Please let me know as soon as I can sign the papers and move in" I state.

"Of course, pleasure doing business with you Miss Sommers" she says and we exit the house. She locks it and we go our separate ways. I go home to see Jenna had returned. Amira watches telly while I go speak to my twin.

"There you are, surprised you came home so quick" she states.

"Lets just say Elena and Stefan didn't want to keep things PG" I tell her and she chuckles. "You going somewhere?" I ask.

"Dinner party at the Salvatore house with Ric, Elijah, Andie and Damon. Want to come?" she asks.

"No thanks, think I'll stay in tonight with Amira" I tell her. "By the way, I'm buying a house for Amira and I. This house is getting a little to crowded" I tell her. She frowns.

"I don't want you to leave" she tells me.

"I won't be far" I assure. "It's just outside town, not confirmed yet. Just waiting to hear from the retail agent" I tell her. She nods her. She soon leaves and I make dinner for Amira & I. Nothing fancy, just mac & cheese.

It was a quiet night for us. Aside from Jeremy and Bonnie hanging in a lounge. Having their not date, date. I approve. I told them not to burn the house down. I put Amira to bed and started to plan on us moving into our new house. Even though I haven't heard anything yet.

When I hear a commotion downstairs. I curse, can't we have one night off. But when I tried to leave the room. I couldn't. "Bonnie! Jeremy!" I shout trying to open the door.

"Mum" Amira says scared.

"Everything is ok, just stay right there" I tell her. She nods her head. Suddenly the door opens and I race downstairs. Grabbing a bat along the way. I find Jeremy hugging a crying Bonnie. "What happened?" I demand.

"Jonas was here" Jeremy states.

"He took my powers" Bonnie cries. Jeremy pulls her close to him and holds her. As I curse.

"Jeremy take her home, I'll clean up here" I tell him. He nods and they left. I sigh and clean up the living room. I then put the books in Jeremy's room. He could return them to Bonnie. I then go to bed holding Amira close. Vampires and werewolves I can handle, but how do I protect my daughter & family from witches and warlocks?
