Gin's POV
Amira is with Jenna in the Salvatore kitchen. While I'm in the living room with the Salvatores, Elena and Elijah. As they go over the plan for the sacrifice. We're up to the part where Elena fits into the ritual. "And where do I fit into it?" she asks Elijah.
"The final part of the ritual" he states. He takes a wooden box from the shelf. "Klaus must drink the blood of the doppelgänger...to the point of your death" he explains. Elena gives my hand a reassuring squeeze. Elijah opens the box and takes a jar from it.
"And that's where you come in" Elena states.
"This is an elixir that I acquired some 500 years ago for Katerina. It possesses mystical properties of resuscitation" Elijah tells us.
"So she'll be dead?" I ask him.
"Then she won't" he states.
"That's your plan? A magical witch potion with no expiration date?" Damon asks not convinced it'll work. I to am skeptical. But I know I can't change Elena's mind. "You want to come back to life, what about John's ring?" he asks her.
"Those rings only work on humans. The doppelgänger's a supernatural occurrence. Odds are, the ring won't work" Elijah explains.
"Besides, he lent it to me" I state taking it from my pocket.
"Why?" Damon asks confused.
"I think he was worried about me being out tonight alone with Amira, I pray I won't need it" I state as I pocket it.
"What if it doesn't work, Elena?" he asks her.
"Then I guess I'll just be dead" she states. Damon looks at Stefan, who shrugs. Before stalking out of the room.
"Do we know if Klaus has everything he needs to do this? Does he have a werewolf?" Elena asks Elijah.
"Klaus has been waiting to break this curse for over a thousand years. If he doesn't already have a werewolf, my guess is by tonight, he will" Elijah states.
"Well he'll have to go through me to get to my daughter" I sneer. No way am I losing my daughter. "I am trusting you all to protect Elena and my sister tonight. While I protect my daughter" I tell them. "Will you protect them?" I ask.
"We will Gin, I swear" Stefan assures me.
"I give you my word, Elena will live" Elijah assures me. I nod my head. I head to the kitchen to grab Amira.
"Can Aunt Jenna come?" Amira asks.
"No darling, she is safer here" I tell her. "Jenna do not leave this house for anything, promise me?" I ask.
"I promise" she says and we hug. "I'll walk you to the door" she states and we head for the front door. But we stop dead when we see Ric. She grabs a crossbow while I grab a sword pushing Amira behind me. "Get out!" Jenna & I shout together. Gaining the attention of everyone else in the house.
"Jenna, Gin!" he shouts.
"Get out" Jenna shouts.
"Jenna, put the crossbow down, okay? Gin put the sword down. It's me" Ric states.
"Stay away from us" we snap. Elena, Stefan, Damon and Elijah join us.
"What's going on?" Elena asks confused as Amira ran over to her. She wraps an arm around her.
"It's me, Elena, I swear, okay? He let me go. Klaus let me go" Ric states.
"Prove it" Damon tells him.
"Okay, uh, first night you and I spent together, Jeremy walked in right when I was about to..." Ric starts to say.
"Okay, it's him" Jenna states lowering the crossbow. I put the sword down. Amira runs over to me and I pick her up.
"Why did he let you go?" Stefan asks him.
"He wanted me to deliver a message. The sacrifice happens tonight" Ric tells us. I hold Amira close to me.
"Maybe you should stay Gin" Elena tells me.
"I won't lock my daughter in a basement" I snap. "If she had run of the house, she'd destroy it, We'll be fine" I assure her.
"Becareful" Jenna tells me.
"Always" I say. "Good luck" I tell them and leave with Amira. I drive us to the end of a hiking trial. I grab the tent bag and my overnight one. I hand Amira her's and we set off down the trial.
"Is everyone going to be ok mum?" she asks me.
"Of course" I tell her. "They have it all planned out and we'll see them tomorrow" I assure her. She smiles and we leave the trial. Heading deeper into the woods, where we hopefully won't run into anyone.
"Mum ring" she says.
"I'll be fine darling" I state.
"Please wear it" she pleads.
"Ok" I say and put it on. "Happy?" I ask and she nods her head. We continue on our journey and she stops. "Something wrong?" I ask her.
"I heard something" she states and I frown. I notice nature had gone quiet. I pull out my shotgun, cocking it. Amira clings to my leg.
"Now, no need for that luv" a man says. He appears in front of me and I point the gun at his head. He has dark green blue eyes and dark blonde hair. "We haven't properly meet, I'm Klaus" he states.
"You want my daughter, you'll have to go through me" I sneer and he smirks.
"I already have a wolf and a back up, so I won't touch your daughter tonight" he states.
"Then why are you here?" I demand.
"Curiosity and to warn you not to camp by the quarry tonight" he states. "I'm sure we'll meet again" he adds.
"We do and I'll kill you myself" I state and he chuckles. Suddenly the gun is gone from my hands, which sting slightly. I watch him break the gun.
"Enjoy your night" he states and disappears.
"Mum" Amira whimpers.
"We'll be ok" I assure her. "Lets go find a place to set up camp" I tell her. She nods her head. We find a good spot by a tree with many roots above ground. Amira would be able to hide there in wolf form if needed. I set up camp. "Amira, if anything happens tonight. I want you to hide in there and not come out until morning" I tell her nodding to the roots.
"What about you?" she asks me scared.
"I'll be fine" I assure her. "I have the ring, I will never leave you" I state. She hugs me tightly and I return it. "Lets get some fire wood" I tell her as the sun begins to set. We gather the wood and I start the fire. We begin to roast marshmallows waiting for the moon to rise.
