Akaia's eyes fluttered open as she stared at the familiar roof of the Tsahìk's tent. The girl groaned before sitting up on the bed."Take it easy granddaughter, you had a rough night." The girl looked up towards her grandmother whose back was facing her as she sorted through her herbs and ointments.
"Is everyone okay?" The girl asked in pain. Her throat burned with each word. She reached a hand up towards her throat gently caressing it to bring some comfort to herself.
"Your family is fine my dear." Akaia sighed in relief. "Although the human boy, Spider was taken." Mo'at said shaking her head.
Akaia bowed her head as she thought of the human. She never really interacted with the boy as she was always too busy with her duties. But Spider was a good and loyal friend towards her siblings and she was thankful for that.
The Tsahìk turned and walked towards the girl with a bowl in hand.
"Here, drink this it will ease the pain of your throat." Akaia looked towards the brown liquid in the bowl before grabbing it and downing it as fast as she could, gagging as she finished.
The Tsahìk looked at the girl with a smile before taking bowl off her and walking back towards he table.
"Im sorry Akaia, Im sorry that I sent you to the old battlefield. Im sorry I put you in danger." The women said quietly as the girl looks up at her.
"It isn't your fault grandmother, you could have never known that they were there." The girl said with a frown. Mo'at sucked in a breath before exhaling loudly turning to face Akaia with a sad smile on her face.
"Go see your family. Ive had to kick them out 6 times while you were asleep so I could heal you." Akaia laughed softly before hoping of the bed and walking towards her grandmother pulling her into a hug. The two stood there for a minute before Akaia pulls away and leaving the tent.
Akaia walks though the clan. Her muscles ache with each step. The girl ignores her pain as she offers smiles towards the Na'vi she passes watching as the bow their heads back at at her.
After a few minutes she approaches her family tent. She frowns in confusion as she sees her Tuk and Kiri with their ears pressed against the side of the tent.
Tuk turns her head as she hears Akaia approaching before gasping and running towards her sister. Akaia drops to her knees as she embraces tuk.
Kiri jogs over towards the pair before joining in on the hug.
The three sisters hold each other tightly as they all relish in the presence of each other. Akaia releases her hold of them looking at their faces.
Lo'ak and Neteyam run over after spotting Akia from a distance, embracing the girl in yet another hug.
"We thought we lost you sis." Lo'ak whispered into her chest.
"Never. I will always be here to protect you guys. Always." She spoke with tears coming out of her eyes. Kiri and tuk join in on the hug once again. Akaia savers the moment, after the last couple of days she will treasure any moment she has with her siblings.
The sound of arguing breaks the group apart. A look of confusion covers the Akaia's face as she looks towards Kiri for a explanation.
"Mum and dad are arguing." she said before grabbing her hand and walking her towards the tent. The rest of their siblings follow crouching next to the tent with ears twitching as they try and listen to what was being said.
"I can not. You can not ask this." Her mother said in a pained voice. "I cannot leave my people. I will not."
"He's hunting us. He's targeting our family."
"You can not ask this! The children, everything they've ever known, the forest. This is our home!" She yelled in desperation, Akaia eyes widened as she released was her father was asking.
"He had our children. He had them under his knife. Akaia almost died!" He's said solemnly. Akaia bowed her head in guilt as a tear escaped her eye. She felt a hand rubbing her back in sympathy. She looked behind her at Neteyam who was sporting sad smile on his face. Akaia smiled back before wiping her tears and looking back towards the tent.
"My father gave me this bow as he lay dying. He said to protect the people. You are Toruk Makto!"
"This will protect the people! Quaritch has Spider and that kid knows everything." Akaia swallows thickly as she looks towards Kiri making sure she is okay.
"He knows our while operation. He can lead them right in here. If the people harbor us, they will die. Do you understand?" The two are silent for a second before Jake speaks again.
"Look, I got nothing. I got no plan. But I can protect this family, that I can do." The group look at each other as they can hear their mother crying.
"But I know one thing. Wherever we go, this family is our fortress." Akaia stands suddenly with tears dripping down her face. They can't leave. She can't leave, she was meant to be the next Olo'eykte. She had trained her whole life she couldn't just throw it away. She looked towards her siblings whose faces were distraught.
In the corner of her eyes she watched as her mother and father exit the tent halting in their step as they saw their children huddled together at the side of the tent.
Jake sighed as he looked towards his eldest daughter.
"What did you hear?" He questioned. Looking towards his children.
"We heard enough." Akaia sneered. Jake approached his children slowly "I need you kids to pack your things. We leave tomorrow."
The girl shakes her had as she glares at her father.
"Akaia listen-"
"No. I have done everything you have ever asked of me since I was a child, but this father. This, I cannot do. You can not expect us to leave. You can not expect me to leave, I have duties here. The people need us father, we cannot abandon them." The girl pleaded to her father. Looking towards her mother for support but the women bowed her head not making eye contact with her daughter.
"Im not discussing this with you Akaia. Pack your things, we are leaving tomorrow." The man said with a hiss before walking past Akaia. The girl looked towards her mother once again. Neytiri looks up at her daughter before embracing her in a hug as the two sobbed together.
