"Mak'korro." The stern voice of the Ronal sounded out from behind them. Both teens turned and looked towards the woman.Akaia bowed her head in respect as she stood up from the mat. Mak'korro followed Akaia's lead standing up from his knees.
"Mother." He said bowing his head as well.
Ronal looked towards to two with suspicion in her eyes. She walked closer to them, her eyes dropping to Akaia's freshly wrapped hand. The pregnant woman gently reached out towards the girl, grabbing her hand and observing her sons handy work.
Her eyes shone in approval as she looked towards her son with a nod.
"Leave Mak'korro, I want to talk to Akaia." The woman said looking at the girl.
Mak'korro frowned before looking at Akaia whose face was riddled with confusion.
He nodded, "I'll wait outside for you Akaia." He said gesturing outside.
Akaia nodded at the boy with a kind smile as he departed from the tent.
She looked towards Ronal who was already watching the girl.
"What happened to your hand?." The Tsahìk questioned looking towards her hand.
"I cut it, I was trying to carve a new bow." She said lifting up her hand observed the wrap.
Ronal nodded at the girl as she circled her. Akaia was worried, she didn't know what the woman wanted. Had she done something?
"You look exhausted." The Tsahìk stated.
Akaia sighed at the question, "I have had trouble sleeping." The girl admitted to the woman.
"Mak'korro mentioned that you have been having nightmares. Is this correct?"
Akaia nodded, surprised at the fact Mak'korro had mentioned that to his mother.
"Yes I have been." She confirmed.
"For how long?" She replied putting Akaia on the spot.
The girl fiddled with her hands as Ronal's harsh eyes observed her figure.
"Since the attack." Akaia answered dropping her eyes to the floor. She felt weak in front of the woman, she was meant to be a warrior not a scared child.
The Tsahìk tutted loudly, "You should of come to me sooner. Tomorrow stop by in the afternoon, I will have something ready for you then." The woman said looking at the nervous girl. Ronal wasn't sure what exactly she saw in the girl, but her heart was strong, she was strong.
She had also noticed her son's concern for the girl. She could feel the connection between the two growing, and she didn't know what to do about it. Her heart was happy for her son, he had found a strong woman who could hold her own. Her brain however was worried. Akaia and her family were being hunted by the sky people, and if they were found the amount out damage that could be caused would be catastrophic. She didn't want her son to be involved in that.
"Thank you Ronal."
The woman smiled at the girl before nodding her head towards the doorway, "Go my son is waiting for you."
Akaia smiled back before walking outside the tent. She looked to the left of her where Mak'korro was leaning on the marui with his arms crossed.
When he noticed her he leaned away from the tent and walked towards her, with concern on his face.
"Hey, you all good." Putting a hand to her cheek.
"Yeah I'm okay." She said smiling at the boy. He smiled back before removing his hand from her cheek grabbing her hand instead.
