Penelope stared at Tanjiro in shock.
"Demons....?" - Penelope
He nodded.
"And they eat humans and cannot go under the sun?" - Penelope
He nodded.
"And your sister is a demon?" - Penelope
"But she doesn't eat humans." - Tanjiro
"Okay..... That's nice...." - Penelope
He nodded.
"I mean even if she did eat humans I wouldn't complain. She's adorable." - Penelope
Tanjiro chuckled.
"Right? My younger sister was known as the beauty of our hometown!" - Tanjiro
"How old is she?" - Penelope
"She had just turned 12 three years ago when she turned into a demon. She should be 14 now since her birthday is not until the end of the year. But since demons do not age, I suppose she is still 12." - Tanjiro
"Twelve? She looks six!" - Penelope
"She can shrink." - Tanjiro
"I see! That must be convenient." - Penelope
Tanjiro chuckled once again.
"It is. But I'd rather she were human. The other Hashira save for Tomioka-San and Kanroji-San, quite dislike Nezuko. One of them even stabbed her repeatedly until she proved her innocence." - Tanjiro
"A bastard." - Penelope
"Haha! But I quite understand his hatred. The demons.... have killed thousands of us humans, including our families." - Tanjiro
"Of course, rather it would be more surprising if they were not hostile towards her. But let me tell you something. Just like how not all humans are good, just like that, maybe not all demons are bad. If I'm sure of something, it is that us humans, are bigger monsters than those demons. You are lucky you have only met good people up till now. All my life, I've been surrounded by people who'd rather I died." - Penelope
Tanjiro stared at her.
"It is true. I have met good people. I met another one today." - Tanjiro
Penelope chuckled.
"You sure have a way with words. But please. Refrain from being so trusting. The more easily you trust, the more easily you'll be betrayed." - Penelope
Tanjiro remained quiet at that.
"Enough of that. What did you find when you were out?" - Penelope
"Oh! I saw another group of knights!" - Tanjiro
"Another? Who was the figure who stood out the most?" - Penelope
"The person had pink hair-" - Tanjiro
"Reynold. Which means ths Second Squadron is also searching for me. But I doubt we'll have to worry about them. It is Reynold after all." - Penelope
"They were going the wrong way." - Tanjiro
"Of course they were. Typical Reynold." - Penelope
"Sister. We have to leave tonight. Lets get on the train when it is leaving so that they cannot catch us." - Tanjiro
"Alright. But.... is there anywhere I can stay? Even a small hut is alright!" - Penelope
Tanjiro placed his hand on his chin and thought hard.
