Starship Entertainment has denied rumors about Erica being a perpetrator of school violence in middle school.
On January 7, Starship Entertainment released an official statement regarding the matter. Read the statement below:
"First, upon checking with Erica herself about the post that is being spread online, it was found that the creator of the comment is Erica's classmate from middle school. However, we have confirmed that the poster's claims about school violence and such were not true at all.
We have conducted an internal verification process. The results are as follows:
The recent allegations were cunningly edited to maliciously slander Erica over the events that occurred during the time when she was making friends in the early stages of middle school.
Contrary to the claims, it was confirmed through a third-party statement that Erica was a victim of school bullying, including malicious rumors and cyberbullying, when she was in middle school.
We ask of you so that Erica, who is doing their best in every moment to achieve their dreams and is moving forward step by step, will not be hurt anymore. We are planning to take legal action under the criminal law and take all other measures we are able to take as a company against all those who have posted false claims with malicious intent. We inform you that we will show no leniency towards the perpetrators who will be punished in the future. We are working on filing criminal complaints through a law firm.
