Here is chapter 21. Its been a long wait, so i just wanted to say thank you for being patient. And so no one is confused. Frank is actually jeremy. If you all remember in the last chapter, i revealed that Frank was Jeremy, indicating that Jeremy had switched places with Frank as part of a plan.
Its been a about 2 and a half hours and we were still driving. My curiosity was driving me insane and I couldn't take it anymore. I needed to know where the guys were taking us...NOW.
"Ethan! Where are we going!!!!!!!!" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
"Girl don't you know how to wait?" He retorted with a hint of annoyance.
"Ugh im sorry, its just killing me." I said and after that there was complete silence. I could tell that my annoyance had irritated Ethan and I decided to remain quiet the rest of the ride.
Half an hour later we finally pulled up in front of a huge white mansion. The lawn was perfectly green and clipped and was filled with dozens of flowers of all sorts.
"Uhmm... Where are we?" I asked.
"C'mon, you'll find out soon." Ian said. We all hopped out the car and walked towards the entrance of the house. Ian rang the doorbell a few times, when finally a short blonde women opened the door. There was complete silence when finally a voice softly whisper "Mother!" I looked towards the source of the whisper and found it to be Ian. Wait...No this cannot be happening. I can't meet his mother.
Ian's mother ran towards him and hugged him into a huge embrace. Ian's eyes began tearing up, yet he didn't let a single tear drop, on the other hand, his mother was bawling her eyes out.
"My son!!Oh my son!! I thought you were dead!" She cried. "General Moses called and told me himself you were dead."
Wait what?! Who's general Moses. I looked over at Ian and Ian's gaze met mine. He realized my confusion and looked away immediately.
"Mother I'm alive and i'm here now. You remember Ethan and Mathew right?" Ian asked and the woman nodded 'yes' and hugged the boys.
"Its so nice to see you all again." She said.
"You to Mrs. Geller" the guys said together. Mrs.Geller's gaze roamed around and landed on me.
"Who's this beautiful lady?" She asked while walking towards me.
"This is Jessica, my girlfriend." Said Ian.
Mrs. Geller brought me into an immediate embrace. She hugged with me such delicate arms and I could tell she was more than happy.
She let go of me and that's when I realized here eyes had grown wide. She was looking at something behind me.
I turned around to see she was staring 'frank' aka Jeremy."FRANK!!" She pushed past me and jumped onto my father.
"Frank your alive. You're here! Did you bring Malcolm?" She asked.
Who was Malcolm?
Jeremy hugged her back and for some reason he seemed so happy to see her. As 'Frank' shook his head no, a wave of disappointment washed over her face but she immediately brought a smile back to her face.
"C'mon on everyone." She said as she gestured for us to enter her house. We walked into the house, which was absolutely stunning. Dozens of beautiful pictures hung n the wall. There were many picture of Ian with two girls next to him. I'm guessing they were his sisters.
"Everyone please take a seat anywhere you like. I'll get refreshments." Mrs. Geller said.
"Uhm I'll help you ma'am" I said as I got up.
"Oh please call me Margaret or Marg" she said with a smile. I nodded and followed her into the kitchen. While I walked out the living room, I felt Ian's stare on my back. He knew I was going to ask questions. Questions about things he didn't want me to know about. But I didn't care. I was his girlfriend and I had a right to know. I barely knew anything about him while he could read me like an open book.Margaret and I filled the glasses with soda and that's when I decided to start getting answers.
"So Margaret how are you?" I asked.
"Oh honey everything is fine."she said with a smile. "I'm so happy to see my son. He finally came home with a beautiful girl too." She said.
"Thank you Margaret. Uhm what did you mean when you said he finally came home?" I asked.
"Well---" as soon as Margaret began explaining, Ian walked into the kitchen. I gave him an angry glare.
"Umm I came to help hand out refreshments." Ian said. Margaret handed him a tray with glasses and Ian said "mother after drinks, were going to sleep for a while. We've had a long day. I promise I'll explain tomorrow" he said while walking out the kitchen.
"Honey you and Ian can take the master guest bedroom. Go ahead and get settled." She said and followed behind Ian.I grabbed Ian's bag and my bag and walked up the staircase and went into the first door on the left. The bedroom was beautiful like the rest of the house. I changed into some pjs and waited for Ian to come upstairs.
After a few minutes he came into the room and locked the door.
His eyes instantly met mine and he knew he had some explaining.
He walked over to the bed and sat down next to me.
"Honey. I know you have a lot of questions but I just can't tell you." He said softly with his head hung low.
"Why not sweetie?" I asked.
"I just can't!!" He screamed. I jumped back by his sudden rage.
"I-im sorry" he stuttered.
"What's so bad that you can't tell me. Ian i'm your girlfriend."
"Just because your my girlfriend that doesn't mean you need to know everything!" He said loudly. I looked up at him and was shocked by the man sitting in front of me. How could he have just said that.I know I didn't need to know everything but I wanted to relieve his burdens, I wanted to be part of his sorrows but he wasn't letting me in. Why was he being so difficult!!
"Then maybe I shouldn't be your girlfriend." The worlds crept into my mouth and spilled out. I hadn't meant to say and when I did I instantly regretted it.
He looked up at me with teary eyes and just like I, he couldn't believe what I had just said.I got up from the bed and walked away from him towards the window to put some distance between us. I turned around to face him.
"Partners are supposed to be there during the good and the bad times... All I want is to share your sorrow. I-i just want you to let me in, you're making it more difficult than it needs to be." I said slowly.
"Jessica, can we just go to bed." He said.
Was he being serious? He's just gonna ignore the whole situation.
"You don't need me to go to bed." I said softly. I got up from the window sill and walked to the door.
"Where are you going now?!" He said with irritated.
I ignored his question and walked downstairs to the kitchen. I rummaged through the fridge, ignoring the fact that this wasn't my refrigerator and I was being completely rude by going through Margret's stuff.
I found three beers and grabbed them from the bottom shelf.I walked into the back of the house and opened the sliding door that led to the patio. I sat on the wooden patio floor gazing at the stars while popping open my first beer.
I sat for about 10 minutes evaluating my whole relationship with Ian.
How could I possibly be with a guy who doesn't want me to know anything important about him. Why was he so scared to tell me. I just wanted to help. I didn't even know he had sisters. And I didn't know his mother was still alive. I mean I've asked questions about his life hundreds of times but he always find a way out of the conversation.Ian found me 10 minutes later while I was finishing up my third beer.
"Leave " I said.
"No" he said while sitting down next to me. I popped up from my spot and walked towards the railing of the patio. I can't be next to him."Ian, This relationship can't only consist of me." I said. "You have to let me in ..... or let me go."
