Chapter 13: A Birthday Surprise
The hallway was long so to say. My brothers room was a bit far away so I started to head straight downstairs. The only thing that stopped me were the screams... I would never forget that.
[Bonnie's POV]
Foxy's birthday is coming up soon and he is going to be twenty so I have to do something extra special for him. Just in another year he would be twenty-one and this precious number would mean nothing. I was out of the house, at a little coffee shop, to go over my master plan. It was called...
Operation Four Best Friends!
I knew that Foxy missed Freddy and Chica so my plan was to surprise him by having them fly out to here! I still need to find good dates and everything, but this has to be my best plan yet. I patted myself on the back in my head and smiled.
I took a sip of my coffee and though about some things. Of course a lot of things could go wrong, they could be busy or an emergency could suddenly come up but I had to take that chance. The light at the end of the tunnel was sparkling and we can almost touch it!
We also just needed to catch up in general. I moved out so I could go to college and surprisingly he came with me. I have a day job to support ourselves and once I get my degree I'm planning to become a mechanic.
Coffee shops were always comforting. The small chatter around me was just like dull noise; a welcoming buzzing in the back of my mind. Also I loved the smell of coffee! Some people don't like it, but the smell of coffee beans fills my nose with joy.
Next step is to call Chica. I'm not exactly the top notch stalker I thought I was so I don't know if she has the same phone number. I'm really testing my luck with this one.
My luck has been a bit spotty lately but aside from that I took out my trusty phone, treating it like some kind of weapon a superhero would have.
I had the old number memorized by heart. We were best friends back then and once you et to spend time with someone, you get to know all the little things about them. If that included memorizing their phone number then I'm quality friend material!
Do you remember that game that advertisers always show little girls playing on tv? You know that one where they have some flower petals and they're ripping em' off to see if a boy likes them or not? That's kind of what's going on in my mind right now. It's either she's going to pick up the phone or she's not. This operation will work, or not.
That dull noise around me turned into something like crashing water. Like something you would hear if you were near a waterfall. Everything I knew around my drowned out into the usual river and flowed through the little shop.
...
....
.....
CAN SHE PICK UP THE GODDAMN PHONE ALREADY!?!?
I don't have all day! Foxy knows where I am and if I'm out to long he'll come searching. I mean how hard is it to reach over and press "Accept"???
"Hello?" Suddenly the regular noise returns around me and I'm brought back to my senses. Oh... She actually picked up. I wasn't expecting that...
I haven't talked to her in awhile though. What should I say? The first order of business is to tell her who it is in case she doesn't recognize the number. Then you can tell her about the plan and everything will be good!
What if she can't make it though? I mean I was preparing for this, but the whole operation would fail, and I would have to come up with some lame gift for Foxy. I only want to get him the best of the best. He deserves it for all of the pain I put him through.
"Is anyone there?" Chica's voice questioned from the other side of the line. Just focus on responded right now. You can worry about all of that stuff later.
"Ummm yeah! This is Bonnie." I nervously called into the phone. For a second the quiet static was all I could hear in the background; no noise or anything.
"BONNIE!" The voice screeched from the other side. I'm excited to her from her but what is she trying to do, blow my eardrums out or something? The other people in the coffee shop seemed to notice this also; looks like her screams reached people out here.
"I've missed you so much! How have you been?" Chica asked. It seemed like she was very excited to hear from me also.
Now here was the hard part. What do I tell her? I could tell her about Secret and Wolfie, or I could just get right down to business.
Sorry boys business calls!
"I can't really talk about that right now... I got something important to tell you!" I whispered into the phone like I was trying to hide this conversation from somebody.
"Oh? And what would that be?" The voice from the other side responded. On the other side of the phone people were bustling around and talking. I wonder where she could be...
"Can you and Freddy fly back down to SSF for Foxy's birthday? I think he'd find the surprise riveting!" Usually I wouldn't talk like this, but it was like some crazy demon possessed my body. Bolts of energy shot through my body like I was on a sugar high. Doesn't that mean I could crash any second though?
"I'd need more information then that, hun... You sound well though." She suddenly turned serious. I could practically see her frown through the phone.
"Jlkhujnhsgjht skhjafygy yrdfelkjs!" Someone from across the line yelled.
"Fine!" Chica responded. "We'd be glad to come though. Just call me back with a date and time..." That's all I really needed.
"Thanks Chica! I'm sure Foxy will love this!" Before I hung up Chica whispered something that I couldn't catch.
This is a mission accomplished in my book!
