I woke up in a cell with such a headache, I could have used it to break the wall if it were pounding against it instead of in my head. The last thing I remembered was fighting some warrior wolves. That sucked for several reasons. First, I can't fight. That's Tony's job. Second, they can fight. At one point, I hit my head, and the next thing I knew I was here.

I look around and see I'm chained to a nearby wall. This was going to be a long day. I tug on the shackles around my hands and to say the least, I wasn't going to get out easily. After a while, I started to panic. I was a rogue in a pack cell. I was probably going to be tortured or killed. Probably both.

I didn't want to die. Who does? Even after everything I went through, I like being alive. Most of my life is lacrosse, but the feeling it gives is definitely worth being alive. The adrenaline it gave me made it feel like nothing mattered and the game always had the same goal. Get the ball in the net.

Oh my goddess, what is wrong with me? I'm thinking of lacrosse when I'm literally about to die?

I heard the creak of the door opening and looked around for anything to get me out of these chains. Once again, unsuccessfully. I saw a beautiful girl walk through the door. Safe to say she was not who I was expecting.

Her ponytail of green-tipped white hair was all I was able to make out as she mumbled something by the door. I couldn't make it out, but I was too entranced by her beauty to care. The closer she got the more energy I felt and I started to remember my situation. I was chained to a wall and about to die, and she was obviously an alpha.

She looked at me one more time before mumbling again. This time I heard the faint word that came out. "Mate."

I let out a curt laugh and nodded sarcastically, "Yeah, very funny. Funny indee-" I'm cut off by her scent, now much more obvious with the closed proximity. "Mate?" I mumble as my eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

She walked closer and released the chains. I looked down at my hands noting the bruises that my lazy but forceful previous attempts at freedom had gotten me.

She grabbed my shirt and pulled me towards her so close our noses were pretty much touching. I felt my heart rate skyrocket in fear. Or something else. I had no idea.

"Who are you and what are you doing in my pack?" she asked in a demanding tone. I didn't want to answer her, but I also didn't want to make her angry. It's not like I had a choice though. It's impossible for a werewolf, rogue or otherwise, to ignore an alpha's demands or questions when they put power into it. She had a lot of power and it was both fear inducing and comforting.

"I was just passing by, I swear. I travel a lot. I didn't plan to stay." I speed out. I watched her eyes glaze over. I knew what that was. A mind link.

"Name?"

I felt my heart sink. She was going to reject me. I didn't know anything about mates but I knew rejection was sad and quite often painful. A lot of rogues were rogues because their mates rejected them. I looked down and mumbled, "Kaito Wentworth."

She let go of my shirt and nodded. "Alright, Kaito, you're coming with me." I look back up at her beautiful eyes confusion replacing the sadness again.

"What?"

"I may be an Alpha, but I'm not cruel or cold to people. I never am. Especially to my mate." She held out her hand as an invitation. I hesitantly took it and immediately felt tingling. I flinched in surprise but relaxed after seeing that it didn't hurt.

She pulled me out of the dungeons and I couldn't help but thinking about the tingles in my hand. The confusion buried the fear and anxiety I had. The closer to the door we got the more my eyes adjusted to the light. At the end of the hallway I saw two men who looked to be in their twenties with a much older man in the middle.

"This is the one you mentioned, Ivy? Let's go talk to the little guy." The older one said. I was almost 6 ft tall. Being called little guy wasn't something I had heard before. I realized my headache had died down a lot. It seemed to be just an exhaustion headache now.

"Little guy? Seriously, Uncle?" she had rolled her eyes at him.

"That's a first," I mumbled jokingly as I walked with them to another room. I caught my mate, Ivy I assumed her name was, smiling at me and then looking serious.

"Kaito, we're going to ask questions and need honest answers, alright?" I nodded and waited for the questions. Before she could ask any, her uncle made another comment.

"Kaito, huh? Nice name." I laugh a little holding back a joke about how I got it from my dead mother and decided to just look at Ivy who was already complaining about the comment.

"Uncle, control yourself," she now demanded. The older guy now gave her a look but said nothing more. She looked back at me, "Alright, how long have you been rogue?"
