Honestly, Kaito makes me forget most of my worries, even if I haven't known him for long.

I guess it's what a mate does to you. I see why they're so special. Despite how Uncle always feigns ignorance and goes at problems with stupidity, Aunty Christina loves him just so and knows how to keep him in line. There is that subtle balance that just keeps them together.

Personality-wise, how could my mate and I be opposites? I felt as though I've gotten quite a bit of his personality from our date. Seeing as he seemed more open and free. Relaxed even. It was nice to see that charming smile of his. If only he smiled like that more.

I take off my glasses and rub my strained eyes. I should really restrain myself from doing so much work. Uncle seems to be on top of the border control, though. Ever since the encounter, we have upped patrol. I can't believe we've had rogues enter the pack without anyone knowing. "You should.. erm - you should take a break from all of that work." I turn around toward Kaito a bit of confusion and a sort of surprise on my face.

My mate then looked regretful, and he adverted his eyes from me, "I meant only if you want to. It's not my position to tell you what you have to do." I placed my hand on his knee, and he stopped slowly bringing his gaze toward me. Eventually, we locked our eyes together and I gave him a soft smile.

"Don't worry, thank you, Kai," He returned the smile and his gaze then landed on my hand on his knee. I blushed and made no move to remove my hand. Butterflies began to explode in my stomach, it felt so weird. I've never felt like this before.

I straightened my posture and stretched out my arms, closing my eyes and trying to relieve my muscles from the stiffness. I was so tired. "Come here," I heard. I look at my mate once more and he beckoned me to get closer to him. "You look beat. You should come and lay down."

'Go! Go!' Marylynn wagged her tail excitedly at me, her tongue out as she panted. She is such a needy wolf. I chuckled at her and didn't think to argue. I was just as giddy for the invitation but made no effort to show the emotion on my face.

I nodded and crawled over to his side, hesitantly leaning on him and wrapping an arm around his torso. Kaito wrapped his arm around my shoulders and I let out a sigh, listening to the heartbeat that resonated in his chest. Marylynn purred in my mind as we fully relax.

"Hmm.. hey, what day is it tomorrow?"

A few seconds pass before I get an answer from Kaito. "I think it'll be Friday. Why?"

I let out a small gasp and sit up suddenly, causing my mate to visibly tense up but I think the excitement in my eyes is confusing him. "Oh my goddess, I can't believe I forgot! I have to plan!" I got up all giddy and packed up my pack work, the tiredness replaced with my excitement.

I sped over to my office to put the finished work away in their respectful files and looked through my work cabinet for a specific binder. "What exactly am I missing?" I hadn't realized that Kaito followed me to my office. I grinned at him as I found what I had been looking for. "Tomorrow is game day!" I looked at the time and started thinking out a little plan.

Alright, I have enough time to make a speech. I can send out a link to call a pack meeting today. Everyone usually doesn't have a problem with last-minute meets, so it should be okay. I quickly send out a link to the pack and turn to Kaito.

"I'm sorry, I never really talked about it. I was distracted for the time being. I have to get to the pack house to talk about the games tomorrow. If you want, you can join me and I can discuss everything about the games on the way?" I think a look of hesitance flashed in his eyes for a moment. I stood, giving him an encouraging smile and he finally nods. "Alright. Yeah."
