(Garnet's POV)
Where am I? What is going on? I'm surrounded by darkness. And I'm alone….
No. You'll never be alone… When darkness comes I'll light the night with stars….
That voice….no..it can't be him! Why won't he leave me alone?!? After all these years?!? Why is he still haunting me?!?
No. You'll never be alone. When darkness comes you know I'm never far…
…….You know you fear me, fusion. Or rather what I can and will do to you. Imagine it….all of your loved ones….
"AGGGHHHHHHGGG!" A voice screamed. But it was just one. It was several! I looked in fear and saw them: All of my family: Steven, Pearl, Amethyst, Bismuth, Lapis and Peridot….all under the influence of that horrible Dark Aura….
"NOOO! LET THEM GO!!!" I screamed as I tried to summon my Gauntlets but instead of my weapons, I saw Ruby and Sapphire in my hands but they weren't looking at me. And how were they even here? I was still fused as Garnet!
"What….why are you two….?" I began to ask until they both turned around and looked at me, their eyes pitch black! Their faces were beast like and corrupted as I quickly dropped them and ran!
"Going somewhere, fusion?" A voice asked in a sinister tone as I saw Fire Agate, Cobalt and Beryl blocking my path!
"You don't want to look at us, Garnet?" A voice asked. It was a voice I knew anywhere: Steven. I turned around slowly...only to see him in that massive Pink form with the face of the corrupted beast he was before!
I was soon surrounded by all of them...all of my family….all of them looking at me...but no attack came….
Do it now…..
All of their Gems glowed. But they were overloading and cracking with too much power! No...no they wouldn't!!
"NO! DON'T MAKE ME WATCH THIS!!!" I screamed into the void as the voice chuckled.
It's time to face your fears, fusion. Fears that you brought on yourself. Witness the results of your own cowardice.
Those were the last words I heard before the sound of shattering filled the air as I was surrounded by the shards of all of the ones I loved…
"No...no….NOOOOOO!" I screamed as I held the shards in my hands, sobbing…
(Ruby's POV)
"Ruby? Ruby calm down. It was just another nightmare." The voice of Sapphire said as I woke up and looked around. We were back in our room. All of it was just a horrible nightmare. One that was so bad that we unfused in our sleep. Something that's been happening a lot lately.
"Why? Why are we having dreams about Dark Aura Onyx and the rest of the Pantheon? No one even knows where they are." I asked as Sapphire sighed. The Pantheon had gone into self imposed exile after Steven brought in Era 3. Some of Sapphire's old friends on Homeworld had been keeping us informed. But neither of us had let the others know.
"We've been having these dreams a lot lately. And if they are anything like Steven's dreams, they sometimes act as premonitions. Which means….The Pantheon may be coming." She told me.
"What?!? Then we'll just beat them back! They can't take us all on!" I replied, summoning my Gauntlets.
"You know as well as I do that just one of them could easily take us all down. With very little effort at that. And in any case, it's not certain. So for now, all we can do is just continue to live our lives. That's what Steven would want us to do." Sapphire said as I sighed and looked at an old picture of us when Steven was a baby. I was nervous about holding him.
"Steven...Stars, those days seem so long ago. I miss him. Do you think he's still mad at us over the whole proposal thing?" I asked, trying to lighten the mood as I saw Sapphire smile.
"No. He sends his love. Amethyst talked to him yesterday." She replied as I smiled and kissed her, fusing us into Garnet. We were still shook with the possibility of having to face the Pantheon. But we couldn't show anyone else that something was wrong.
With Steven gone, it'll fall on Garnet to keep morale up and things in order as best as we can.
