With Daya's help, Bosco repacked the bag she had originally packed to go with her the first time. Only this time, she was much more excited than nervous. This time she knew what she was getting herself into, and she knew that as long as she was with Daya, everything was going to be okay.
"I've been looking for this shirt-" Daya said, pulling an old band shirt out from Bosco's pile of clothes.
Bosco quickly grabbed it, folding it up and placing it in her bag. "I need it." She claimed, not willing to give it up.
"For what?" Daya asked in confusion, reaching over to take it back before Bosco took her hand instead.
"For science." She said, pulling herself into Daya's lap to keep her distracted. She knew for a fact that more of her girlfriend's clothes were mixed into her pile. "And I look cute in it, so you can't complain all that much."
Daya raised a brow but smiled, resting her hands on Bosco's hips and pulling her closer. "I guess that is true."
The smaller girl giggled quietly, snuggling into her arms and laying her head against her chest. Despite her excitement to be going back on tour with her, there was just a hint of nerves. Not for what could happen, but the knowing that she might not be coming back here unless it was to visit. The small town used to be her safe space, but also the only place she had ever known. Despite things she had to go through while living there, she didn't have any other place to consider safe.
Until Daya came along. Now Daya was her safe space.
Angie knocked on the doorway, getting her attention as she tossed another shirt into her bag. "Kory said she could bring over some boxes if you'd like me to start getting stuff together while you're gone."
Bosco looked up at her in surprise. "You'd be willing to do that for me?"
Angie nodded. "I'd love to keep you here a little longer, but those three weeks were hard enough. It's best that you're both with each other for your own good...and the sanity of everyone else."
Daya nodded a little in agreement. "I think I was starting to annoy Crystal. And that's pretty impressive because she's usually the one being annoying."
Bosco smiled, wrapping her arms around one of Daya's before looking over at her friend again. "Thanks, Angie. That'd help a lot."
"Of course." She said softly, glancing at Daya before giving her a small nod and leaving them alone. Daya let out a sigh of relief. She was still always going to be nervous around her and Irene.
"They'll be allowed to come visit and stuff, right?" Bosco asked a little nervously, tracing her finger over the newest tattoo on Daya's bicep. "And we can come back here to see them?"
"Of course they can, princess. And we can come back here to see them." Daya promised, kissing the top of her head. "I'll never keep you away from your friends and family."
Bosco smiled, pecking her lips softly before she stood up from her lap. "I'm gonna get my meds from the bathroom real quick. I'll be right back."
Daya nodded, watching her leave the room. She picked up a stack of her sketchbooks and carefully set them down in the suitcase for her. She was more than excited to have her coming back on tour, and she was more than determined to keep her out of harm's way this time.
"Daya?" Maddy said quietly from the doorway. "Is she almost done packing?"
"I think so, yeah." Daya said as she folded yet another one of her shirts that she didn't have the heart to take back from Bosco. "She's getting her medication and I think that might be one of the last things."
