Y/N's POV:

The quail ended, Lando starts on P7 tomorrow which is so good and I am happy for him. Lando stayed in the garage for a bit to talk with his team and I said I will go back to the hotel which he agreed to. I was walking past all the other garages when a voice stopped me

"Y/n!"

I turned around to see someone yell at me from the Ferrari garage "yes?" I looked at the person and behind me to see if Lando cannot see me, because he'd be mad to see me with anyone from Ferrari and if I say 'anyone' I mean it. Carlos is his all time favourite teammate after Daniel of course, but he still tells me to stay away from Ferrari. He jokes about it a lot but I know he means it, he doesn't like Charles though. Which is kind of a problem here, I live in Monaco and so does Charles. So when we're both not travelling with F1 we sometimes happen to meet each other, after all, he lives like two houses away from me. We are not friends really but we sometimes do have a small talk about racing when we see each other for a sec, which is not that often. And he has a girlfriend, Charlotte, which is my good friend.

"We have wanted to call you or send you an email because we have an offer for you." The guy came closer to me, it was Enrico I have known him for quite a long time

"An offer? For me? What do you want me to do? Drive for Ferrari?" I joked

"No, not really" He laughed "we are looking for an engineer, there's some problems going on right now"

"And why did you wanted to ask me?"

"Well, you did the same job in McLaren in their most successful season and you are the option number one for us right now" he tried to smile a bit

"I'm so sorry, it's a pleasure really but I can not, especially because of me and Lando" someone choosing me as the number one option is a real pleasure to me, but I don't think that I want to get back to this job and I don't think Lando would be happy about it

"Trust me, we can make sure that you and Lando won't be a problem, I promise. The salary would be three times bigger than you do have now and you'd be back in this position, which I think is not bad" he laughs a bit trying to lighten the situation a bit, he looks really exhausted

"I can't really, I'm sorry...It's my final word. I'm happy where I am" i smile sadly

If it's true, I am not sure...I'd probably love to be back as an engineer and for Ferrari! Wow...but I can't...

"Get it" He says, he looks sad but mad at the same time "have a  nice day"

"You too, bye" I say leaving the Ferrari garage

There was another person right behind me, Charles "Hi, Y/n" he smiled kindly "What are you doing in here?"

"Hello Charles, I'm here because I was just discussing a job offer I got" I smiled too

"Oh, so you're gonna work with me?" He smirked

"No, I'm not taking it, don't be so excited" I chuckle

"Why not?" He says why getting closer to me looking right into my eyes, he's different

"I'm a McLaren girl and I always will be, Leclerc" I smile ironically and proudly at the same time

"Mhm, and sure you will hate me now just because your boyfriend does, right?" his smirk is making me feel like smiling, but i won't

"I don't hate you Charles, and I don't really get why do you think that right now but I gotta go," I say turning my back to him walking away "and by the way, congrats for P2 today, don't mess it up tomorrow"

I don't really hear or see if he is saying or doing something because I am walking away from him. I'm on my way to my hotel room to get a shower and wait for Lando.

After two hours of sitting on my bed and looking for places where to eat I finally hear someone knocking. I got up immidiately knowing it was Lando.

"Hi, I found an amazing place to eat in, I am starving and I hope you are too" I laughed a bit while he entered the room not giving him any space to say 'hi'

"Good, yea, I am kinda hungry" He says while he sits on my bed not showing much emotions

"What is it?" I ask him sadly sitting on his lap

"Just wanted to ask you...what were you doing with Charles in the Ferrari garage?" He puts his hand on my back and looks in my face with the same empty face he had when he entered

I chuckled "we were talking, Lando"

"About what?"

"Do you really need to know everything?" I asked seriously

"Yes, when it's about him" still no face expression

"It's really not important" I got up "you better tell me what should I wear"

"Y/n, seriously...are you hiding something?" I sometimes wonder where Lando got his trust issues from

"Well yes, Lando, I am or at least I wanted to because it's not something you really need to know, 'cause it's not happening" I said with my anger growing because this guy just doesn't trust me obviously

I literally felt his heart beat went faster even tho I was like two meters far from him, he got up

"What is it? You better tell me now"

"I got a job offer, a one that I cannot accept" I said while looking right into his green eyes

"W-what job offer?"

"To be an engineer...for Ferrari" I said like it's no big deal turning my back to him trying to find what to wear in my wardrobe

"What? Y/n...but it's good isn't it?" He said hesitantly not being happy, we all know why

"Yea, it is, but you know that I cannot accept it"

"Well, you can...I'll get over it" I know he is saying this just to make me feel better, but it's not working. I know him, I know his reaction wouldn't be positive if I just showed up in his room saying I am gonna work for Ferrari

"That's exactly why i didn't wanted to yell you and I probably wouldn't if you weren't making up stupid things in your head"

"Y/n, I am sorry, and I don't want you to not be happy with your job because of me I would get it if you'd accept it" He tried, he really did try to save this situation but he isn't happy that I even got this offer in the first place, he hates the fact that I would be spending way more time with Charles than with him

"Well, I did not, so let's just stop talking about it" I don't even really want this job back, or do I? I don't know...it seems like such a good oppurtunity, but I cannot do this to Lando "what should I wear?"
