The Scamander family has creature blood and it's more pronounced in Newt.
That's why he's so comfortable with creatures. He's all instincts and doesn't get why he's forced to act more human than he is.
Scamander creatures change to fit their mate
They have the standard increased senses, strength, etc. but when they meet their mate it locks in on their creature and becomes their match.
Ex. A Scamander mate is a dominant Veela so the Scamander becomes a submissive Veela
Oc is a submissive Nekomata so Newt becomes a dominant Nekomata
1925- the year the movie was set in
Summers of 1918-1924 Newt travels and researches creatures around the world.
During one of those summers, he meets and rescues OC in Africa
Oc was captured by poachers and injured in his creature form
Newt has to force OC into submission in order to help heal them
OC goes to New York with Newt

Newt and OC adopt Credence
Cute nuzzling and scent marking scene where Credence is confused but loves the attention
OC sees Credence obscurial and calls him their magic cloud. When told he's dangerous oc calls him their dangerous magic cloud
Newt and OC getting into mischief married then running into family and having to explain
Newt slouches / curls up to protect his neck and stomach vulnerable areas
Avoids eye contact as it's a sign of a challenge. Only makes eye contact when he's willing to fight for something
Newt is tall. When he teases OC he looks down at him
Magic Core stabilizes at 11 and it continues to grow as long as you stretch it (use magic)
Inheritance happens any time after that Once the core is strong enough to handle the creature it'll appear
In certain bloodlines the ones who will get the inheritance show signs before. Strong instinct, enhanced senses, scales, pointed ears, etc.
OC gets sick they have an argument and OC tries to leave. OC almost dies but Newt saves him. Newt is pissed and takes control. gentle pleading kisses turn to rough ones when OC starts to reciprocate
OC is stubborn. Kind of innocent in the way he doesn't know much of the human world. To Newt he is a curious kitten who thinks he's tough with his little claws and teeth. To the rest of the world, OC is a block of ice. His claws and teeth are legit dangerous weapons. Hell straight up tell you to your face he would murder you but he chooses not to
OC asking Newt if he wants him to torture poachers for him
OC and Newt run into a family friend and he introduces OC as his husband. During the adventure, someone is separated from the group. The family friend asks what to do and Newt is like we won't leave without them. OC is like why not. Newt is like we don't abandon friends we talked about this. Family friend is like you would do that. OC is like yeah if they're weak and injured and if hunting was bad I'd eat him then leave. Newt is like believe it or not that's progress
There are no Obscurial's in America Madam President." He says evenly. "You said so yourself." After they find out credence is the obscurial OC nicknames him thunder cloud
Newt has been told, multiple times, that he crept out of the womb with his claws and fangs out. His first cry was a howl.
It can take days, weeks, months, very rarely a year or two after their 11th birthday for a Scamander to grow into their creature aspect. It had taken Newt seconds after his birth.
Living by instinct has always been easier for him than pretending to be complete human. The creature's world makes more sense to him.
When words got gummed up in his head, and nobody else would wait for them to make their way to his tongue. When he'd crouch down beneath his skin into something that would rather care for creatures than keep company with other wizards
The moment where OC is accepting his feelings of newt. Newt gets separated from OC and is cornered by thugs. OC sees this and saves him by beating the thugs unconscious. When they were down he fluttered around Newt making sure he's ok
Oc is like a cat. Proud doesn't admit he wants pets and cuddles. Tsundere, when he lets Newt.
