Bogum sat with heels bouncing while he waited for his FaceTime call to be answered.

"Bogum?"

"Yes, it's me. Expecting someone else?"

Seojoon sighed. "I suppose not. I was just surprised to get your call."

"Why? I'm your boyfriend, am I not?"

"You are. I just haven't heard from you since you left." There was a hint of irritation in the man's voice.

"I know, baby. And I'm really sorry. It's been hectic here with all of the wedding buzz and I'm a bit screwed up with the time difference. I didn't want to bother you at odd hours." Lie.

"It's okay. I've been busy too."

"I was actually calling because I've really missed you," Bogum pouted. "It doesn't feel right to be in a paradise like this without you."

Seojoon harrumphed at that. "Im sure you're faring just fine."

Bogum sighed. "That's the thing. I'm not. Can you come, please?"

"What? To Hawaii?" Seojoon was obviously perplexed.

"Yes. I know your schedule is light this week with your premier out of the way." Seojoon was was a minor K-drama actor but he recently landed a larger role in a Netflix film.

"I suppose, but where was this sentiment when I offered to accompany you in the first place?"

"I told you. I wasn't given a plus one. But I spoke with Mrs. Kim and she would love to have you join," supplied Bogum.

"Mrs. Kim?"

"Yes, the mother of one of the grooms and a close family friend of ours. Wouldn't a little break be nice? I could book you a flight."

Seojoon was a bit dumbfounded. He felt like he and his boyfriend had been drifting apart, but perhaps he was trying to rekindle things? "I don't know, Bogumie. That's quite a journey. How much longer will you even be there?"

"There's still a week left. Plenty of time to spend with me on a beach with a piña colada or whatever it is you like."

"I like daiquiris, remember? It does sound nice though. I just wish I was more prepared. I wasn't expecting this," Bogum stated pensively.

"I know and I'm sorry for springing it on you. I understand if it's too much. But like I said, I just miss you," Bogum resigned.

Seojoon took a long pause. This seemed so out of the blue after being essentially ghosted by his own boyfriend for the past few days. He felt uncertain, but the thought of a vacation was honestly enticing after his schedule had finally calmed down. What did he have to lose?

"Fuck it. I'll come," resolved Bogum.

"Yes! Thank you, baby. This means a lot. I'll make the arrangements and text you the details."

"Okay. I hope I'll be getting more texts from you than just flight arrangements from now on," said Seojoon, who was smiling now. He felt a little hopeful. Maybe a breakup wasn't as imminent as he thought. Little did he know of Bogum's true intentions to spark jealousy in his ex, who Seojoon had never met and knew very little about. He was under the impression that he met Bogum after a fresh breakup with a coworker. He never met Taehyung, which was surprising as the pair met at their shared marketing headquarters when he was working on promotions for his movie.

"Yes, you'll be hearing from me more until you arrive. I'm sorry again, for being out of touch. I want to make it up to you," said Bogum with an impressive level of earnestness, considering he was spouting bullshit.

"So you'll be my personal cabana boy for a week?"

Bogum laughed. "If that's what it takes."

"It's a start. I've got to go, but let me know when you have the flight booked and I'll start packing."

"Okay, I'll get right on it. I love you, Bear."

"Love you too."

Bogum ended the call feeling very satisfied with himself. Once again, the feelings of another person went completely unconsidered by him. All he thought about was the chance to remind Taehyung of his boyfriendly ways. Surely he'd forget all about the trashy biker boy occupying his interests and come running back.

Seojoon will be joining us in Hawaii. I hope you're still in support of the idea.

Well done, Bogum.
