I'M BAAAAAAACKKKKKK
Btw I haven't proofread any of this shit bc I cringe so hard at my own writing it's not even funny, so sorry if none of this makes much sense lolsies <3
————————————I crack my eyes open, wondering why my back is so warm but my front is so cold, and yawn, stretching a little.
At this motion, Niragi's hand curls tighter against my stomach, and I freeze, remembering everything.
What was I thinking, oh my god.
I sit up, brushing Niragi's hand off of me, and wince at the soreness of my lower abdomen, and heaviness of my limbs, then blush.
Suddenly, I leap up, remembering how we were supposed to be 'looking for the cards'. I check the clock on the wall, and relax a little, seeing it had only been forty-five minutes.
My focus then shifts to the door, but I remember Niragi locked it, before... yeah anyway. Though I still have to get my clothes back on asap.
I grab at my inside-out underwear, struggling to find it in the near darkness of the room. I'm pulling it up onto my hips when a groan comes from the bed.
"Finally decided to wake up, huh?" I raise an eyebrow, struggling into my sports bra, and he opens one eye, smiling sleepily.
Not giving me time to protest, Niragi lunges forward and scoops me back into his arms, lying down.
"We don't have to go just yet." He whispers hoarsely, burying his face in my hair.
"Yes. Yes we do." I say firmly, turning around to face him, our chests touching, well aware that he still has no clothes on.
Niragi ignores me, "you're so beautiful," he says, kissing me gently on the very tip of my nose, which goes pink at the physical contact.
He starts to stroke my face, trailing his fingers along the outlines of my features, and I close my eyes.
An abrupt rattling of the doorknob causes my eyes to fly open, and Niragi finally sits up.
His hair is knotted at the back, so I hurriedly rake through it, smoothing until it looks socially acceptable.
And not like we just had sex.
Oh my god I just had sex.
I can finally die in peace."You need to wash your hair," I say, wrinkling my nose dramatically, though I'm secretly admiring his flawless body.
"Put your leggings on, woman."
I smile, tugging them on and unlocking the door, not a second after Niragi had finished buttoning his shirt back up.
Surprise threads through me at the familiar bald head and tattoos that greets me, his hand raised as if to knock again.
"Last boss." I say questioningly and he stares at me with those bug-eyes.
"You were taking too long, so Aguni told me to come look for you." He explains, then spots Niragi.
His gaze flickers between us a few times, looking at me with pity, and Niragi with disgust, then raises his eyebrows as if to say, well who am I to judge?
"Your shirt's inside out, Niragi." Last Boss says airily, turning away and waddling back in the direction of the meeting room.
I turn and glare disapprovingly at Niragi, who's hurriedly fixing his shirt.
"Shut up." He says, sensing my reproach.
When he's finally done, I walk out slowly, not adjusted to the uncomfortable sensation that still weighs my legs down.
"Aika! Wait for me love," Niragi catches up and smirks, noticing how I'm walking funny.
"What's wrong, why are you walking like that?" He asks teasingly.
I whack his arm, because it's the closest thing to me, and I'm to lazy to push him away.
"Zip it, you moron, and help me."
"Oh how I adore the sweet words that come out of your mouth." Niragi says, offering me his arm.
I loop mine through his, and lean into him as we walk down the hallway.
This gives me time to remember everything that had happened. In detail.
I feel a lot lighter, in a way. My feelings for Niragi run so deep it scares me, especially because they probably aren't fully reciprocated, but I didn't wake up alone, which definitely says something, at least, according to the stories I've overheard from other women around the beach.
We come to a stop outside the fancy double doors to the meeting room. Last boss must already be in there.
Niragi pauses to tuck a loose strand of hair behind my ear and plant a hasty kiss on my forehead, then unlinks from me, opening the doors.
I enter first, hesitantly, scared that people will know.
Because they must know, somehow they're going to see it on us. Surely. Why else would we be the last ones back, right?
But, to my relief, no one points at us dramatically and screams, those rascals were banging whilst Aguni was crying over Hatter! No one even turns to look in our direction, so I keep my gaze lowered and head straight over to stand in a gap in the circle the Executives naturally formed.
Niragi follows close behind, and I flinched at the heavy wooden doors slamming shut.
I shift my weight from foot to foot, wishing we could all just be dismissed so I can lie down again.
"No luck I guess?" Aguni asks.
I shake my head vigorously as Niragi confirms. Aguni's seemingly bored eyes slip off us, and I feel bad at seeing the flicker of sadness pass over his face, like a shadow.
Chishiya waves at me from across the circle, and I smile nervously at his smug expression. Can he tell?
No, surely not.
Niragi's arm wraps around my waist, taking some of the weight off my sore legs, so I wrap mine around his too, squeezing his side in gratitude.
An glances over briefly, inclining her head at me and ignoring Niragi, then turns away again. It's hard to see what she's thinking behind those sunglasses, but I did see her red lips parted in surprise at our position.
Awh man, I'm gonna have to explain myself to everyone later.
Finally, breaking the intrusive silence, the doors slam wide open as the last of the militants come rushing in.
I feel Niragi freeze, but it doesn't register with me straight away. Not until the girl wearing a green sleeveless jacket and heeled boots steps forward and brandishes it for everyone to see.
The deck of cards.
