"Talk about what?" I ask An for the millionth time as she strides down the stairs leading to her lab.

We finally arrive, An unlocking her door and grabbing a bottle of wine before taking a seat on her corner sofa. I follow, doing my best to ignore the nude bodies sprawled across the countertops.

"Yeah sorry about those." An apologizes, noticing my discomfort.

There's a satisfying pop, and the wine cork hits the ceiling.

She offers it to me first, and I take a swig, remembering not to have too much since I haven't eaten barely anything today. I take the chair opposite her, internally frowning at the way my bare legs fucking multiply in size upon contact with the worn velvet. Taking a few moments to readjust so my thighs don't look so chunked out, I finally settle, taking another huge gulp as the liquid slides down my throat. I then pass the bottle back to her.

"There's a couple of matters we need to discuss, but don't worry this shouldn't take too long." An hesitantly starts, pursing her lips around another tart mouthful of the wine.

I experience an unsettling sensation which speeds up my heart pace a few notches. Awh crap, what did I do now?

"You haven't done anything wrong, but-"

"Bitch you could've told me that! I thought you were going to talk to me sternly and stuff!" I interrupt.

An stares at me, and I hand the bottle back to her.

"Ok my bad for calling you bitch. I love you really, now spill,"

After several long, painful seconds of procrastination, An starts talking. I shake my head a little to clear the fuzziness.

"Well.. as soon as Niragi came to the beach I knew there was something wrong with him-"

"Hey!!" I frown, defending him.

"-Some sort of psychological problem."

"There's nothing wrong with him!!"

An raises her eyebrows, and I have another large swig of wine, not meeting her reproachful eyes.

"Okay fine, he kills innocent people, I get it." I finally sigh.

"Right," An smirks at her victory, and grabs the bottle again, so I stick my tongue out at her like a five year old. Very mature of me, I know right.

"Well, I knew something must have happened, perhaps some sort of past trauma, that would make him this way, y'know, no one is born that masochistic, that sociopathic, that-"

"Ok, ok, no need to rub it in."

She sighs apologetically, "Sooo... I decided to do some digging."

An grabs the laptop balanced on a shelf behind her, setting the already half-empty wine bottle on the counter, and logs in, starting to furiously type away. I sit and patiently wait, picking my cuticles as a way to dim down the tremor in my hands. What the Hell is Niragi not telling me?

"I think it's easier if you just read this." An finally says to break the silence, placing the laptop on my bare legs.

The heat of the decrepit machine warms me through as I look upon what seems to be a news article. I can feel An's eyes boring into me, but I don't look up until I've read the headline.
