Hyacinth's eyes fluttered open. Her body was sore all over, as if she had fallen from a great height. Light and sounds flooded her senses, stunning her for a moment. As her eyes dilated to adapt to the brightness of the environment, she sat up and looked around her.
The young succubus found herself in the middle of a desert. There was nothing but dunes in sight with the occasional boulder. There were no clouds to be seen above. The sand was quite hot from the constant sunlight. Yet for her, whose body was made to endure the heat of the Abyss... it was soothing.
"Ah~! It's so warm and snug~!" Hyacinth moaned in satisfaction and laid back down. She began to vibrate a tad. She cracked one purple, incandescent eye open. "What's that?"
The vibrations quickly became more violent. Sensing danger, she flipped to her feet and leapt up. Once she was airborne she spread her demonic wings and hovered. Below her the sand began to sink until something burst outward from it. A massive centipede screeched while looking dead at her.
Level 330 Giant Worm
"Level?" Hyacinth blinked. "What does that mea- whoa!"
She dodged to the side as the creature's head struck where she had been a moment ago. It dived back into the sand for a moment, its segments following its head in a motion similar to a snake's body. The centipede's maw came for her again.
"Tch! A mere bug dares to try and taste me?! I'll split you asunder!" She cried angrily. She drew a scythe from her separate space and channeled her mana into it. "Serpent's Fang!"
She slashed at the beast's head as it approached, sending a crescent of dense and sharp mana flying toward it. The unintelligent Giant Worm clashed with it head on, causing a section of its body to be split cleanly in half. Green blood spurt from its guts momentarily before it burst into blue light particles.
Hyacinth wrinkled her nose in disgust. "Foul creature. What is all this anyway? Some weird thing appeared in front of my face."
You have slain a Giant Worm.
A panel with words on it settled into existence before her. She stared at it with awe and confusion. "What is this thing trying to say... I've heard Aunt Lyra speak of mortal video games before. Am I... inside one? That's surely not possible. What does this mean, exactly? I command you to tell me."
Nothing happened.
"Oh, what the hell...?" Hyacinth mumbled in disbelief. "Fine."
At a loss, she looked at her adamantium scythe her mother gifted her. As she examined it, a new system panel popped up.

"Ah...! Interesting..." Hyacinth thought out loud. "How very convenient. Is there anything else I should know before exploring this realm called 'Satisfy'? Perhaps if this is truly a game-like reality, then I can see my own power level somewhere? Aunt Lyra has this ability, what was it called...? Stasis? Stylus? Status? Oh, that worked!"
