𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐀 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐆𝐆𝐋𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐎 𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐘𝐙𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐄. In the short time, she had come to know the girl she had been left perplexed and out of her depth on several occasions. Despite this Alina allowed herself to think she had gotten some understanding about the girl she had been all but obsessed over for the better part of a year and much no one's shock but her own she had been wrong.

Cyzarine—whatever her last name is—scared?
Alina knew it was irrational but she couldn't picture anything scaring Cyzarine—she just didn't seem the type to be scared of anything really. She killed men twice her size, laughed in the face of volcra, and made a mockery out of the monarchy—what would scare her so hard she would run?
And why did she leave Alina behind?
It was an irrational thought, it truly was but perhaps Alina thought they were in this together. Cyzarine hadn't given any indication otherwise and she sort of hoped that would be the case.
Or perhaps she had.
Alina had a terrible habit of clinging to hypotheticals instead of realities.
Like: One day Mal might notice her beyond their connection to keramzin.
Or.
That maybe the girl she has been crushing on for over a year actually might like her back enough not to abandon her.
Or
That maybe there is something there when she looks at the General—but these were hypocritical.
Not reality.
Reality was:
Mal didn't notice her.
Cyzarine didn't care about her enough.
And General Kirigan was just a very charismatic man who had sexual tension with everyone he looked at.
Alina was delusional.
She was delusional and hurt and she hated the fact that she was drawing Cyzarine and couldn't get her eyes right—!
"Ugh!" She groaned and ripped the page out of her sketchbook and threw it into the garbage can by her desk just as Genya entered through the door that conjoined her and Cyzarine's rooms together.
