It almost sounded as good as a warm meal at the moment. But not in the way that you may think. Was she annoyed with someone? Yes. Did she just so happen to be contemplating the murder of that person? Yes very much so. She tended to think about murdering this person a lot more than she would like to admit. Though this time it was different.
She didn't want to murder him to be rid of his pesky existence. She wanted to murder him for entertainment.
Did that sound bad? Probably. Did she care? No...
Cyzarine was bored.
Terribly so.
She was sure an investigation into the murder of a poor blonde Mapmaker, would bring about the entertainment she so desired.
The more she thought about it the more appealing it began to seem. Especially when he opened his mouth to address her.
"Say, Katrina?"
His voice cut through her murderous thoughts, causing her to slump against the rattling walls of the caravan in annoyance. Her fingers pausing their movements, the pencil between her fingers seemed to strain with how hard she held it. She kept her pale gaze trained upon the crude sketch of a boy, hanging above a rose bush. Behind him stood a door, she seemed to spend more time on the door more so than the hanging boy, cracked open just enough to see the darkness within.
Damn, she was homicidal.
"What do you want, Alexei?" She sighed after a moment of silence as she flipped the page in her journal onto a blank one.
"You're from Novyi Zem, aren't you?" He asked her naively his blue eyes curiously, his blonde hair falling into his eyes. "Why are you with the First Army?"
Cyzarine pushed herself farther into the carriage wall, separating herself from her unit as much as possible. Maybe her homicidal thoughts kept her from thinking about jumping ship with how close everyone was.
She looked up to peer at him sharply, he shrunk back slightly under her gaze. She stared at him for a long moment while everyone but the girl who sat by him watched waiting for her reaction.
