A tired breath escaped Y/N's lungs as moved to the side, barely managing to dodge Weiss' strike. He and his white haired roommate were in Professor Goodwitch's classroom right now, having another one of their training sessions. Y/N did his best time dodge every strike directed his way by Weiss, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike back and use one of his blades on her.
They weren't the only ones in the classroom at the moment, though. Ruby was with them, but this time wasn't participating in Y/N's training. She was watching everything from her seat in the front row, making encouraging comments to Y/N whenever Weiss put him in a tough spot. Yang and Blake weren't with them at the moment as they were too busy with their own stuff.
Out of all people who were showing him how to fight, Weiss was one of the most frequent choices for him to spar with because of both of them having similiar weapons to each other. The white haired girl even tried to teach Y/N her fighting style at some point, but gave up on it after seeing saw how Y/N slowly started to form his own fighting style with his swords, his gun and his grappling hook, having decided it would be for the best if kept mastering his own style.
Y/N stopped in his tracks and snapped his head of the school bell as it started ringing, "Looks the bell went off."
Weiss nodded at him, putting Myrtenaster away, "Seems like it. Looks like we will have to finish this training on a different date."
"Yeah." Y/N nodded in agreement, putting his own blades away as Ruby got up from her seat and walked over to him and Weiss. He looked between them with a questioning look on his face, wondering what they thought about today's training session, "So. How did it go?"
Weiss smiled at him slightly, "It went well. Much better than the first training session on the day we got your weapons."
"I can see the improvement on each training session." Ruby nodded in agreement, "The first time when you fought Weiss you weren't able to dodge any of her attacks."
"Don't let yourself rest on your laurels, though." Weiss added, "You still have a lot to learn if you want to reach or even mine Ruby's level."
"Yea..." Ruby paused for a moment, realizing what Weiss just said, "Wait? Even mine level? What are you trying to say by this?"
"Don't worry. I don't intend to." Y/N assured Weiss, "I know I'm still far from reaching your level and still have a lot of work ahead of me if I want to reach it."
Weiss nodded at him in a pleased manner, "Very well."
"Don't ignore me!" Ruby shouted, "What did you meant by what you just said about me?"
"I think she is trying to say it will take me less time to reach your level Ruby as you're a weaker fighter than her." Y/N provided Ruby the explanation she was waiting for.
Ruby's eyes widened in realization as she looked at Weiss with a hurt look on her face, "Weiss. That was mean!"
Y/N rubbed her back comfortingly, "There. There."
"What?" Weiss asked, "I'm trying to be honest."
Y/N shook his head, "And you still wonder why people call you Ice Queen?"
"Quiet you!" Weiss told him to shush as Y/N and Ruby chuckled at her reaction, the latter's mood litting up. She crossed her arms and looked away from them, "I'm trying to be better, you know!"
Ruby smiled at her, nodding her head, "We know Weiss."
"There are still some parts you need to improve on, though." Y/N added.
Weiss looked at him questioningly, "What are you talking about?"
"Don't you remember what happened the last time when the two of us went out to hang out in the city, because I wanted to learn more about dust in order to prepare for the test in Professor Peach class?" Y/N reminded Weiss the little excursion they had in Vale in order to study the wonders of dust, "You ended up talking about it for hours. You stopped talking about it when returned to Beacon when it was getting dark."
